Ok apart from the well known ones of MZR and Fourways, are there any Datsun / Zed experienced restorers in the UK who could take on restoring a whole car?

Obviously you get what you pay for but looking for something more affordable.

Ain't looking good. I guess everyone's looking out for their own cars. I'v restored mine but to do someone elses is a bit of an ask and major work I guess.

Compared to you franky, a glacier moves quickly!

Mr T's car is painted, so it's reassembly only from here on in I believe. I don't know what state the mechanical bits are in ... is everything else new or do some parts have to be restored?

Fair enough then and it will get finished somehow. It would be better if the specialist was knowledgable about Zs, but I don’t think they have to be a Z ‘specialist’ really. A trusted local classic garage would be just as good, to me. There must be a local club (any make) that could recommend someone? These cars are not that hi tech!

Maybe The GTR Heritage Centre? I believe they’ve had a couple of S30s through their workshop (a Z432?) and they’ve restored and are restoring other Nissans of the period.

They’ve had mine for a few small jobs and I’d use them again for the Zed.

didn't they just import the 432?

then costs each way? not being able to keep check on it? bad enough if a few hours away!

I had thought they’d done some work on it but perhaps I’m mistaken.

Distance is definitely a factor, you’re right, but I think MrT had mentioned somewhere that it was a possible option for him.

so you’ve just learnt something new? Saying you wouldn’t pay vat is wrong isn’t it?

At 56, when importing parts for my Z from 1989 and having imported more Zs since 2004 than your family has toes - nothing left to learn buddy.

Yes, it is wrong so I won't and didn't say it.
