Don't feel too bad about it.!
Suffering displayed on the TV last night is all relative.
Just because some children in Africa don't have shoes to wear is not suffering if that is the norm, it is just different from us. They may get some really bad foot inffections but that is just life in Africa.
We in the West are always trying to push our values on other nations/cultures.
In Kenya for example the suicide rate is very low compared to the UK.
Suicide and depresion are a western disease.
My Brother has worked in Kenya doing voluntary work for over 3 years and is very informed about the real issues out there.
His wife is a native Lou from Kenya who has worked as a human rights lawyer for over 10 years in refugee camps etc.
I have seen these first hand myself.
The West throwing money at Africa is not a solution and can make most of problems worse.
Africans need to sort themselves out.
The west is a big part of the problem.
