Nissan debuts 'Custom Proto' version of new Z

I'm sure plenty will arrive as imports. No thanks to Nissan UK!

I love this custom version. The only thing I'd be inclined to change is the black roof; if it were body colour, it would channel the S30 look even more. I'd have it resprayed.

I agree with you on the orange roof line..
And I'm sorry I'm not keen on the bonnet scoop In black... I imagine if ever available these would be an option.

I'll wait 3 years and look at the 2nd hand market then..

So a youtuber in japan's Girlfriend put her name down for one of the 200 available this year (not sure how real that is). Anyway, they are in the showroom looking at the engine, quite interesting design. DON'T start at the beginning

This one - in the link ( as in not the green one?)

Wrongly described as a 432 in Dino's Speedhunters report, in fact it is Takeuchi san's 432-R - the very same car as in the first post on this thread.

PS30 Fairlady Z432 and and PS30-SB Fairlady Z432-R are quite different animals. Nissan's 'Customized Proto' new Fairlady Z show car was designed to evoke the spirit of the 432-R, not the 'ordinary' 432.

Thanks Alan- I didnt notice it was the same car on the limited view of my phone

( To be honest , being colour blind i had trouble with the red/orange and green cars - so i did my best )

I recall the interesting thread you started on another site about this car now you mention it - sadly the gallery link no longer works from that thread - not sure if its available elesewhere)

Yes, not sure what is going on with the links. Constant changes to the classiczcars forum seem to make things disappear...

Takeuchi san's 432-R has been a prolific performer on stage, screen and page for many years. He's probably available for weddings, bar mitzvahs and supermarket openings too. It has been my personal taxi to and from Tokyo for several events and owner Takeuchi san is hugely generous with his time and attention. He really uses the car and certainly doesn't baby it when clocking up thousands of km a year.

I'm told that it was Takeuchi san's 432-R in particular that inspired the styling team to come up with this 'Customized Proto' project for the New Z. Its high profile in the media and at live events in recent years really brought the most special of all the production Zs to the attention of the people involved.

It looks fantastic - It would be almost worth converting, and opening a kwiki-mart for the opportunity ( ill stop at getting married - one is enough) .

Its always pleasing to hear that owners share and use the vehicles they own - especially ones like this. And a great photo.

Shame the gallery link isnt working and I couldnt find it. The thread itself is a weath of information , and well worth a read for anyone.
