Nice early 240Z for sale

So the ‘RHD’ car that was being sold by 1st Choice Prestige and Sports Cars for many months and subject to much discussion regarding its true LHD origins has now appeared at another dealer with a big cut in price?!

How bizarre! Didn't realise it was the same car.

Didn't realize it was that one. The way the advert reads ' first registered in Japan ' I assumed it was an original RHD Japan spec car.
Very naughty misrepresenting the car in this way!

Buyer beware....

Hello David and thanks for taking the time to reply to me on Christmas Day – hoping you had a good one.

I was 59 earlier this month and owned 240Zs for the past 35years.

The one you have listed is the first I’ve ever seen with wipers set up opposite to the drivers’ side whether the car be LH or RH drive.

Are you stating that the car came from the factory RHD ?

The simplest way to confirm this would be to quote the chassis code (not the specific number but the generic code ie HS30/HLS30) which is found stamped on the bulkhead inside the engine compartment in front of the drivers’ side.

I also note that you have a lovely 260Z for sale…..hard to choose between them - will you be getting more Datsun Zs ?

Best regards,

Sean

You are probably too young to know but this was not uncommon back in this day.

Switching for different continents was expensive so some items were left.:EXTRArolleyes:

Example .. Mark 1 Golf’s brakes were always poor because they had lhd systems for RHD cars.

Anything else ?

Hello, https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1671296

Good evening. Why are the wipers fitted for a LHD car please ? Regards, Sean seanz@wanadoo.fr

Wipers are one of the main things people don’t swap over when converting, sticks out like a sore thumb

This company does have a superb selection of classic cars for sale and they do great car and coffee mornings. They do also spend quit a bit of time and money going through the cars they buy. I do not know this car and have no connection with Fairmont, I'm just offering my impartial view of this company.
