Hi Folks, New to ZClub.net so thought I'd say a quick hello. I have had a few Japanese cars over the years mostly Type R Hondas and also various American cars including a 57 Chevy with an LS1 for the last decade. Always fancied a Z which will probably be a LHD import, never know something may turn up on here :) Thanks for having me.

Hello mate, there are a few Zs on ebay. Most are 280Zs from the USA which are being imported because of the lack of earlier UK cars for sale.

Before you 'dive in' have a good read of the project Threads on here.

You need to avoid structural rot, automatics, sun roofs and 'messed with' cars.

    Are you ok with LHD?

Hi Rob, Thanks for bringing it to my attention will check out project thread.
    First experience of dreaded
UK Z rot was in the late 70's early 80's working in a body shop so aware they can be a nightmare. LHD is no problem for me or my wife.

Welcome to the Club and good luck with your search

Lots of helpful people on here so ask away with any questions. I'm sure they'll be plenty of members who can pitch in with thoughts about potential cars if you need the help.

I've got a LHD Us import that I organised myself so know the process/feeling all too well as do many others.

Welcome to the club! I'm down in Southampton, not far at all!

I imported a LHD over from the USA (read my ownership thread) and can give you a hand with any questions if you have them :)

Found a suitable Californian import project car so thought I'd do a quick update and also take the opportunity to say thank you for all the help I have received so far. IMG_20180624_154058216.jpg

Probably not the ideal specification car to some being a 280, LHD,Brown & Auto ! but more importantly to me apart from corrosion to O/S & N/S floor rails it has remained remarkably rot free and is reasonably straight with nice panel gaps, and interior although tatty isn't toast and it was affordable ! I have also sourced a RHD, Manual donor car so the option to convert is open to me at a later date.

Work has already commenced in order to get through first MOT prior to registering ( lights, wipers, washers etc ) and I have removed the concrete filled wardrobes masquerading as bumpers !

Thanks once again for the advise.

Looks to be a solid car that can be made into the car you want to drive, congrats on the purchase!

Thanks Mike, Patio measured up in the wife's absence just enough room to extend the garage and fit the Z in, don't think she'll notice ……..Meep meep ! IMG_20180624_114020613.jpg
