Hi people, just joined up. Paid the deposit on my 260 this morning so will get pics up asap. Have been a nissan man for many years and have had 3skylines a pulsar , micra and am currently rocking a c32 laurel. Always fancied a z car so saw this one and decided to scratch the itch. Dont know long it will last as i truely love my laurel and would ideally like a z32tt. But we will see.

Welcome to the club. Look forward to seeing a picture.

There is no car on Earth any sexier than a 260Z!

The early ones are basically a 240z. The late European cars had the "upgrades/development" to make a whole better car (suspension, electrical contacts, to name a couple), even to drive. This is why there are differences within the 240z (European) range-development.

A 240z and a late 260z do feel a different car to drive/be driven in (in standard form). When you start looking, the differences are long. Though if you like a more "rawness" to a S30, then the the 240z should be your choice over a late 260z (in standard form).

In Japan the comparable year S30 (1977-8) get a whole different model number designation (S31), even though they are the same body/suspension etc (but do differ greatly).

All personal choice really, and nothing "wrong" with a 240z, still a S30!

Does that help Riddler?

well heres some pics, is there a build thread section? cant seem to find it.

reason its on stands is that it blew a core plug, thankfully a mile from home.

suposedly its on 240 carbs, which is what the previous owner said but im not sure so any confirmation would be good

interior, "honest" if a little tired

needs a good tune up/service, but has come with lots of new parts, new flexi hoses and brake lines, lots of new bushes, wheels are nice. and has generally been well looked after. no mot and obviousely new core plugs but best of all it is really really rot free. had a very good poke about and its flipping solid. as pics will demonstrate. sills are solid, as are all under arch areas, front chassis legs, i honestly cant find any thing to be concerned about which needles to say i am over the bloody moon about.

sills, both are like this

couple of under arch shots

front chassis legs, again both like this and are rock solid

full janspeed exhaust, not stainless unfortunately but still in very good condition

and lastely why i love my laurel so much, gives me a semi everytime i look at it(realise this might just be me, lol)

so what do you all think.

The 260Z +2 looks like a vert tidy and honest example. They are lovely cars and you appear to have landed a relatively rust free as well:thumbs:

your Laurel is much better looking than the zed .....and that a FACT !

Remember this is the "Z "club and there will be little love for laurel on this forum compared to the 2plus2...perhaps if the Laurel was badged ZX?:smash:
