Yes, fuel lines run along the inside of the right side chassis rail. If you want to see there are a few photos on my build showing these.

Thanks for the info lads, stripped off the suspension off this week and was nicely surprised that all the bushes were in great shape and new shocks and brakes had allrrady been done, so a good rub down a coat of etch and a good coat of bridge quality satin black, next week a full under body shultz and refit

Yes John that is the plan as i seem to remember my first Z was just 7 years old and had no door bottoms arches and chassis rails, i wonder how all these nice untreated Cali imports will be in 10 years time over here although i know they wont get used as much but that's not the plan with this one, blown out all the box sections today with a road compressor next week going to get a long tube with a fan spray at the end and inject good old fashioned waxoyl in the cavities jfyi there's 3 litres of 3m shultz just on whats in the pictures

Prepared some more parts for the daily driver today and gave the boot floor a refresh as the last owner had removed all the sound deadening mat so i laid some modern diamond patern stuff and heat moulded it to the contours, fitted new springs and tokico adjustable shock to the front legs oh and preped and painted the tank kindly traded with John20161220_150931.jpg20161220_170501.jpg20161220_170549.jpg20161220_150126.jpg20161220_150135.jpg20161220_150204.jpg20161220_104942.jpg20161220_104952.jpg

Looking good Tel

If you want some decent Ally top spring mounts instead of using those modified standard ones, I designed and made a few for my last car, they sit in the standard Datsun top bearing but seat the top of the 2"1/4 or 2"1/2 spring properly,

I've gotta make a new set for my new 240z so wouldn't be any hassle making another set

John the car come with them on the front and in the parcel of parts were a pair of tokico TOBZ3015 adjustable shocks, had a measure up and there standard length tubes with welded sleeves, the springs that they come with were 180lb and only 8 inches long so i bought a set of 10 1/2 170 lb and see how it goes Indecently the front legs are from a 240z and the TOB3015 can be used in the rear strut after sectioning about an inch and a half which confirms that a standard front shock can be used in a rear shock tube also the 89 vintage MR2 shocks can be used in the front after sectioning so a cheaper way to lower a car 2 or more inches without bottoming out issues i'm not going to drop the 260 to much but will give me a good insight for future assembly's

Good for you that's the best bit, not much left to do then before its roadworthy. Glad to hear of another car that gets used all year round :)
