Most of you knew Merlin, my Giant Schnauzer, he got rechristened MerlinZ at Billing a few years ago. A founder member of Swapmeet and a regular attender at as many of the Club Shows as possible.

This year he started to slow down a lot, suffering from arthritis and spondolosis which rapidly overtook both his back legs and spine.He was very quiet at Zed Fest and went further downhill after that, lately going for ever shorter walks and occasionally toppling over. Whilst that doesn't sound too good on the face of it, he has been a regular attender at the vets and everything has been done apart from fitting new legs. The family said goodbye over the weekend and he hit the Baileys last night.

This evening he made his last journey and went to sleep at 5pm. R.I.P. Merlin.
 
sorry to hear the sad news derek,i know how hard it is when you lose a family pet.

DerekSorry to hear your sad news. I can't think of many things worse than loosing your best four legged friend.Chin up, I'm sure you have many fond memories to take forward from here on.
 
Free to wander

Well by now he'll be having a wander with my old girl Scrappy, watching us thinking he guys check out the view.

Keep the memories it’s what makes life what it is…..a rehearsal for the real thing.

Sorry to hear your sad news, I only met MerlinZ the once, a lovely creature.

I'm sure he had a very happy life with you :)

I remember the first time I met him at Zed fest a couple of years ago when he so very nearly bit my face off:eek:
 
I was gonna say that, but was trying to avoid bein insensitive. But i will miss the humpings!!!

R.I.P MERLIN. Commiseration's to Derek,Nathan & family. He was,& is.
in my memory bank & occasionally watched my Z Club dvd'z .
He will move on to better pasture's & look over & watch over Derek's well being. Saddened DJZ 60.
 
Bloody hell, thats a shame, my fondest memory? him drinking Burnsie's Baileys and farting like you would not believe...merlin farting not Burnsie, well I think that was right.:conf2:

Sniffing balls was a part of who MerlinZ was, and should be celebrated, not forgotten.
