I feel there is definitely a market here, the full tail panel will be in demand as will the spare wheel well, we’ve had several threads on here about panels that people wish they could get hold of so an expanding range of more choice can only be good for the consumer.
Positivity is good, but so often I've seen the best of intentions start to struggle when the realities start to kick in.
The images shown in the first post appear to be scans(?) of already existing panels: The floor pressings and floor supports look just like types already on the market, the spare wheel well looks like it is still on a car and the complete rear panel looks like a scan of a factory replacement panel (just like the one I think I spotted in the video I linked to). At this stage, are we not just in the
talking about it phase?
The complete rear panel factory replacements were actually several complex panel pressings spotwelded together. Reproducing this accurately is not for the faint hearted and - as far as I am aware - nobody yet offers an off-the-shelf solution because of what is involved (although I believe Fourways Engineering here in the UK make bespoke, hand made one-offs when required). It would cost a small fortune in press tooling and jigs, will be expensive for a customer to buy and expensive to ship and pay duties and taxes on. And frankly if you have a car that needs this complete panel (rather than just the lower part) you are already in a world of hurt...!
Even if such a panel does come to market, I just don't see a USA-based supplier needing a UK distribution base/'fulfillment centre' for it. Any individual buyer might just as well buy direct.
