L6 Performance Oil Pans

Wanted to find out what, if any, performance / race oil pans you chaps are running.

I came across this today from a auto cross racer who was letting it go. He wanted to go with the lighter AZC aluminum pan that holds less oil. He thought this pan was overkill for what he is doing.

Since I road race my 71 Zed on the track, I like the extra features and capacity this pan offers.

I'm running the same sump Mike. I believe its a Nissan motorsport one(2 gallons).

Mine differs slightly inside as my crank wipes extend the full length of the sump, but otherwise its the same. They were very expensive new but, I don't think there available anymore? A good sump for racing but, yes you are carrying a lot of oil.

I've just got a standard one with a lip added on the tray thingy. (Black one on the left)

I'd like a grander one like that, but not at the AZC type price!
 
How about header clearance past that wide oil sump ?

At what performance point do you go dry sump ?

The chap I bought it from had to modify a Nissan Comp header and Clifford Research header to clear the pan in 2 places.

I wonder if your pan would clear?

He will be selling the Nissan Comp header shortly and I have first crack at it if I want it.

Seems to be a common issue with these types of pans.

Matt.....did you have to modify your header to fit??? or are you running one?

Mine clears because I have one fitted on some chap's car your side;)

If you bought the comp header, I'd be interested if you want to move it on.:thumbs:

I use the old nismo one, no issues with clearance but close.
 
I run the same sump which I modified very slightly to miss the header didn't want to alter that work of art
