A friend bought tickets and was since told they cannot park on site and need to ‘make their own parking arrangements ’ …. Whatever they could be

No, you can’t on site/on a club stand. They likely wouldn’t let you in. You’d need general parking, which is the same problem as before, I.e. sold out.

Clearways? Think you mean Copse, Clearways is at Brands.
Is there Club track action these days? I used to enjoy Japfest track sessions, mainly at Combe.

Track action is focused on the Drift Kings competition, with several sessions/rounds of that. The website does show public/club track-time sessions, but I don't recall that actually being available at the ticketing/pass stages when booking was open. Given some of the wording, I think that might be a website mistake, confusing Japfest and one of the other Fast Car events.
I think another victim of Japfest's scale and the Silverstone move is public track-time. JDM Combe still does track time though.
