Get the smiley pig up there right now! It's all dependent on the trim man getting your dashboard and steering wheel back in time for Carl to do final fitting. We're confident :) .... .....ish.

Val Minelli 4 points
Rob Hughes 2 points
John Mason 2 points
Paul Eaton 2 points
Matt Bannister 2 points

All others failed to present forms before leaving, so no record of runs or attendance....

Also noted:

Andy Onalaja, V8 engined 240Z (660Z) 12.20 something at 120 mph. Suffering from slipping clutch - definitely more to come.
Mark Watkins in RatZ - low 10, suffering manifold leaks.
350Z GT4 14.46
350Z Sumo Drift car 13.5

Pro Shoot-Out - a poor joke of unprofessional quality...why don't these guys properly test their cars before bringing them to an event like this. They also need some serious practice in launch technique and the importance of reaction time - I beat an 11 second Skyline to half track due to his inability to react to a green light!

dammit - I forgot we got spectator points..

Don't think it matters for my car this season though..

2. Dave Porter 14.863 / 93.34 5 points; 4 attendance; reaction 0.259 7 points. Total 16.
3. Adrian Rawlins 14.864 / 93.19 4 points; 2 attendance; reaction unposted. Total 6.
4. Mark Warburton 14.981 / 93.72 3 points; 2 attendance; reaction 0.459 4 points. Total 9.

Now that is a nice interesting competition!

was interesing to see what the sumo drift car got as well...

the 660z I only saw one run, which seemed a little off pace and a bit smokey, anyone know what happened to improve the time??

Was great to chat to people, shame I didn't get to see a some..

Was a brilliant day, I got to have a go in a drift car through someone who works at sumo who used to own a 1jz, they were also trying to get me to enter the time attack.. very tempting.. esp as they have some good links to sponsors, but still going to end up too much money..

Dave Porter's car was the car of the day for me, looked amazing.
And was great to see steve k showing how it is done on the strip, what was the 60ft btw steve?

Can't wait for the next one!:D

Ha! shame I didn't get to catch up with you on the day.
Will be phoning in the next couple of days to find out about my car... fingers crossed!

Just to clarify wyn, you're talking about about the owner of the 660z, and not me! ;)

like the new signature Phil:D

thought it might raise a few eyebrows, not sure it is strictly true, as I'm sure the cars higher up on the board than me could well have run faster times on street tyres....

I accept that some Pro cars eventually ran in the nines, but they couldn't do it reliably and they still can't launch with a decent reaction time. The Skyline toted as capable of seven second passes at 178 came out for its first qualifier, popped and f**ted its way down the track, oiled the top end and stopped proceedings for 40 minutes - very professional!
When it came to the eliminator, car after car broke or failed to make it to the line. A succession of Supras got bye runs into their next round and the eliminations became a farce. I was so dis-interested by that time, I couldn't even tell you who won.
A Pro Shoot-out is billed as a succession of nine second stormers in heads-up competition. The rumour mill was suggesting that an eight second pass or better might be required to win this year. Tens just don't cut it - quick, I know, but some of them with poor reaction times could have been beaten by strong twelve second cars in a heads-up elimination!
Until this weekend I had assumed that this part of the proceedings was MSA sanctioned. I now realise it is not - one of the competitors in an RX7 was running in jeans and a jumper with crash helmet almost an afterthought, yet strong competitors like Andy Barnes and Simon Norris are fully suited with race harness and neck brace added for good measure. A nine second car could be a big accident waiting to happen - the safety aspect is poor for some.
Several of the previous strong contenders were not present - I wonder whether they are put off by the lack of professionalism too?

quickest ever 1/4 UK street tyre 240z

It would probably be unfair to mention that my old V8 240Z ran 12.34 on street tyres back in 1986 and that the 660Z 240 ran 12.20 on street tyres on Sunday last...perhaps add "6 cylinder" to your sig?
