JAE new date and venue

Alan,

Thank god for your diplomatic approach! Mine would have been more along the lines of:

Go to boot, grab wheel wrench, progressively beat the crap out of the little bastard! Sorry but I cannot STAND wankers like that!!!!!

Had I been near my zed I would have gone fetch my breaker bar to the little fools head but it was over on the other field.

I just squared up to the scroat and said 'Right out this is the ladies tolit and shower area' grabbed him by his arm and lead him out.

Girl power rules:) I might be tiny in hieght but one doesn't argue with a firey redhead on a mission :lol:

Well I went down to the beach twice, and I did not see anything like in those pictures, it all looked very nice, I was there from Thursday to Sunday, and had a cracking time, I thought the site was nice, with good facilities, and the staff were spot on. You cant please everyone though.
It was a shame that there was only 1 old school zed there, but with the change of dates etc, to clash with zedfest, it was expected that not many Z Club members would go. I hope more people will make 2009, and make there own judgements on the new location etc. ;)

must admit Kim when emerging from my tent the sceen was so pretty looking out to sea in all that sun.

Where was the yukkie bit of the beach as I didn't find that bit either

Well it all looked fine to me, and at the end of the day, I was there for the Cars and social, if it was a nice beach I was after, I would have gone to Blackpool LOL.

Why go to Blackpool when you can go to "Great Yarmouth". It's like Blackpool only not as good, the natives are vicious (accept for the local girls who start out plenty hospitable 'til you run out of cash!), it's almost impossible to get to now, it's near Lowestoft, it smells, looks a little like Bhagdad (but no where near as tidy / well policed), you'd be one of only 2 Zeds (the other is a blue 350z who ignores my flyers!) and everything.

Oh yeah...

Kim's right. I'm sure nobody went there for the beach. As we all know, nowhere is perfect but some places are better than others and for different reasons.

It's difficult enough to find a suitable venue for such an event. Full marks to Fuggles & Co for the effort.

I was being sarcastic Jak LOL, Blackpool beach is worse :p.

100% correct on that Derek

Billing Aquadrome
on the surface is great unless there is heavy rain and it then becomes a nightmare ( on an aside heeard from my friends who live there that if there is more than a certain amount of rain fall the environment people come round to access and if to bad evacucate every body including the static home people from the site)

Sherbrooke scout camp
Fields are great but the mole populationcan get under your feet, access road and the big field is a bit bumpy for some

Mersea Island
In a couple of places when the tide goes out there are a few tyres and a bit rubbish on the beach that was not part of the car show area

Athough I didn't go to Mersea Island from what i have heard the venue itself is as good as any other on a whole

Also Agree full marks to Fuggles &Cco for the effort and finding the finaces for the initial outlay on keeping the event going after the early setbacks re location earlier this year

John Fuggles told me that one of the reasons they chose Mersea Island, was because statistically...It's the warmest and driest place in the UK. And I found that out when I had to hammer my tent pegs in because the ground was so hard.

BUT ... It's too far for us northerners AND... It's ruled by the bloody tide AND...the queue to leave was like leaving a GP so for me IT'Sin the wrong place.

When the tide was in it was just peachy

The ground was very hard, as per Kims post, as I had to hammer my pegs in too

All in all, to be fair, it was a good location.,

Biggest fault, was that they printed a site map, and then moved all the stands so the site map was useless, as the stands were not where the map said.

I guess they may have got a bigger attendance than expected and booked another field.

But it's not really the show that it used to be and ZXOC attendance in future is very doubtful.

Agreed mate, they held there hands up to this cock up, 2009 Should be more organized than this year, as they will have a better idea, and will have learnt from theis years mistakes.

Mr EX: I think you can stop posting those pictures now fella, I think people got your point the first 20 times you posted them.:rolleyes:
