Here we go again Derricks 260z restoration

View from other side ,please ignore the welded air tube above not my work to be sorted later when i will be making new air tubes :rofl::smash:

Pretty pleased so far as the footwell side panel to A post and now the inner wing all fold and join as they were when it left the factory.

So now the strength is going back into this corner rather than the mess of patches that someone had put in before that were just tacked to each other :eek:
Now to get the driverside floor in and then the new outer sill.

Back soon i hope ;)
 
Driver-side floor now welded in and connected to the new footwell all feels really strong not like before . Needs a few finishing touches will do this once the new outer sill is fitted, and i can spin the car over to make for easier welding :)

Cut out the dog leg panel tonight looks like theres going to be a bit of work here too also need to repair a bad repair to the bottom of inner arch :eek:

Someone has just welded a plate over rusty metal and it doesn't fold back and join the inner sill so this will need sorting before the new sill goes on :rofl::smash

Yes Franky thanks for confirming my thought .

I was thinking there should be a pressed strengthener in there somewhere ?:unsure:

If any one has any pic what it should look like would be most grateful.

So have now removed the cill :eek: looks like it needs new strengthening panel to dogleg end of cill need to find what it should look like :( also got rusty repair to strengthening panel at A post, Which will also need sorting then i will shot blast the inside of the inner cill so no rust will be lurking once the outer cill is fitted :)





If anyone has any pics of the strengthening panel would appreciate seeing what it should look like .

Just a small update although a lot of work :(
Shot blasted all of inside of inner sill and dogleg and A post no rust there now :D

Made a strengthening panel with pressed swage lines for dogleg now welded in :) still needs a little tidying of the welds even though not seen feel i can make them better :unsure:


Front strengthening panel now repaired and welded
