Double din head unit replacement

Hi, I’m looking for ideas on changing my head unit to something a little more modern. My original 2010 one doesn’t connect to my iPhone very well and drops out in mid conversation. The maps are out of date and obviously no apple car play which I would like. Has anybody done this and what would you suggest. I would like to keep the steering wheel controls and all other features but just a better more modern system. Is this possible ? I do like the look of this but it may be a little OTT and the name
“ Nifty City “ brand puts me off slightly 😁IMG_8123.png

Wow, that's more like triple DIN!

With these type of things, they're always fairly cheaply produced and android based, and hit and miss in my experience. I've had a couple in my various BMWs.

If it is a Chinese HU, what you'll probably find is the same thing appears under various different brand names too.

I'd search on the US forums, and just search Google in general for "370z touch screen head unit reviews" and things like that, until you find some first hand experience of them.

Sometimes the touch screens themselves are a bit iffy, making it hard to select things while moving. And it *looks* like that thing even replaces your climate control settings, which even on a good touchscreen I find less easy to use than proper dials and buttons.

I'd be tempted to get ones that leave the CC stuff OEM and have a slightly smaller screen. I can't even imagine how most android apps would look on what is basically a portrait display 🤔

Things have come on since I last looked. I modified a 10" Android HU to fit in my 2009 370Z and made a physical device on the OBDII bus to operate the HVAC. I like the fact the one you posted up does all that out of the box.

I don't like touchscreens in cars per sa, I much prefer physical buttons. But adding one of these doesn't take the analogue nature of the 370Z away. You can still use the steering wheel controls for example.

I'm happy with my HU. It has Apple Car Play and Android Auto but I just tether my phone and use the native HU apps (Waze, etc.) The reverse camera screen is a good size, and there are other after market things you can add like TPMS.
