Any golfers on here?

Apologies in advance, this is probably a bit OTT to most but I couldn’t help myself.

I play a bit of golf, not particularly well but I enjoy it, and if the weather is nice it’s an excuse to take the Zed out.

My family were asking for birthday present ideas and I said I would like a fancy ball marker and gave them a specific idea for one. It never materialised so last week I thought I’d go and order it myself.

Like I said, most will probably thinks it a bit sad, I certainly expect my non car appreciating playing partners to rib me for it but I thinks it’s class!!

I'm not a golfer but my youngest (David) plays so I go along for the exercise. Such a skillful and frustrating game but at least with a Datsun marker you get some satisfaction.

Love it Dale! I used to play a lot of corporate golf when I was client facing (and no kids!!) at some beautiful but snooty clubs - I can well imagine the raised eyebrows if they saw Datsun being laid down on the green!

I once sliced from the 9th tee (dog leg to the left) onto the fairway of the 8th (leading to the 9th) and when I went to retrieve my ball, I had a super snobby old lady come up to me, looking at me, looking down her nose at me as if I was vermin in her favourite flower bed! In a very stuck up posh accent she said: “Which hole are you playing young man!? Have you played this game before!?”

The temptation was too great / overwhelming, so I went into my East London boy alter ego and in my best cockney accent replied with:
“Naaaah it’s me first time! It’s great init!! You just whack the ‘ell out of it don’ya”!?

Then I watched her fluff her shot and the temptation to imitate her accent and say “which hole are you playing old woman?” was great!!! I was a guest and figured I had pushed my luck pretty far already and may be escorted out if I didn’t watch myself!

Great and most frustrating game!!!

My Kylie sized girlfriend at the time used to play off 3 (!!) and never failed to shock absolutely everyone with her Sunday walk relaxed and lazy 250-300 yard drives!
