Great looking car what colour is it ?

Its 113 Green metallic. We had some made up but it looked flat compared to the paint that hadn't been damaged by the sun. So ended up with it being colour matched and added a little metal flake for a little extra shine.

The guys that painted the car did a brilliant job on it.

Lovely.....but

Messy plug wires, no carb return and that excessive rad overflow pipe detract from what is a really nice nice engine bay, car is super, aside from (IMHO) the tyres look a little too balloon like for the RKRs

I did say it was nearly finished. :D Still things to do but I want to drive it.

Very nice in deed, I hope there's going to be a Build thread on it, would love to see the journey you have made.

So what's the spec?? If it's a L plate, get it on the black and silver plates ;)

Mike, I've got to own up I had a man down the road do the work for me and fortunately his level of OCD is far greater than mine. It would still be in his workshop having work more work done to it but I just want to drive the thing while its sunny. The odd jobs can get done over the winter.

I'll post up some more pictures over the weekend and some detail on spec and what's been done, but what you see here wasn't the intention. I was simply going to get it MOT'd and rat it. But once it was up on the ramp and looked over it in detail it seemed a shame to let it go that way.

Thanks for all of the comments and yes I am pleased with it.

You are lucky to find a "man down the road" who is skilled and willing to do the work. Credit to him and I agree with your approach entirely, enjoy the car while the weather is good and you can tend to the finishing details later.

I do agree with all the above (those items detract a little), but must say that the car still looks great and I absolutely LOVE the colour!!!

Great car and great colour. LOVE the piping on the seats. Glad you have not modded up the bodywork and left the car with its original beautiful lines. I also like the ride height just as it is. The only slight criticism I have (and this is just a personal choice thing) is that I would have preferred some chromed-up wheels. But overall I love it - you must be dead proud.

I never noticed the piping on the seats, thanks for pointing it out, looks great

Agree about the rad overflow, no need for that at all

With the actual enviromental controls, it may be deemed unsound to simply p*ss glycol wherever and whenever and on circuits, they're particulary sensitive to overflows which is why mine will have a catch tank.

It could be fitted more discreetly but perhaps asbojohn is thinking ahead or is as 'green' as his Z.

Everyone should know I love green.

Is it not possible to pressurise the coolant system with an expansion tank?

so you best get to work on it straight away and report your findings to the good Z people:lol:

Not me mate......

And yet the forum bows to the altar of a guy who would gas axe springs and do "porting" work with the head still on the block, and who never wrote down anything except on the back of a fag packet.

A lot of misunderstanding and confusion is down to the 3rd party failing to do any decent research.....in the end, caveat emptor........... you can't fix stupid

Not much hope for that French bloke then Steve is there

.....I'm just stupid :) - go ask THE enginner or his fireman.;)
