A new Nissan 510

When they brought initial concepts out the current GTR (VR38DETT) I was thinking 'what the hell are they doing'
I knew it was going to be a fast machine and it most certainly was.

Eventually a good friend imported the first GTR into the UK which I filmed alongside 5th Gear and I took a massive liking to it. I mean it won't win any beauty contests sitting next to a prancing horse it although is not the ugliest car about.

Speaking of ulgy looking cars, Nissan released the Juke. I think it's a right minger.

Anyhow, this new 510. In that pale yellow looks un-tasty. Not so keen on the rear clusters or the rear quarter which climbs towards the roof and at the same time not keen on the front lower spoiler.

Scrolling down nostalgicar, I was actually suprised to see the Nismo version which I can don't mind.
Front on, it looks like the designer had a soft spot for Bubba which isn't a bad thing but also it reminds me of Big samuri front end. It does look aggressive in a modern way; standing front on. The wheels look pretty nice and the slightly wider arches look better than the standard version with a little detail to the rivet looking holes.

I still don't like it's rear end.
I think it does look like a muscle car, something that you've move out the way for if you were in your shopping car. I also think it there's a stance/look that it shares with the Chevy Camaro.

So going back to Godzilla latest form, the car is all about how it drives. How quickly it takes on those medium corners without letting loose, how it managed to heavily outpunch cars at supercar level. It think if the experience of the drive is top notch it could do pretty well.

It's not as offensive as 4x4 minis and those things look like turd.

I just don't think many people will put enough pieces together and understand what a 510 was in the olden days.
I'd drive one in it's aggressive form without the livery. It'll be sure to be overpriced like a Juke though.

Couldnt agree more, although one that has been in a tussle with two artics,,, ...........one at each end.To be brutally honest all it needs is some machine guns, missile pods and a custard tart throwing contraption attached and such...the creation of a 5 year old and a packet of felt tips.Wheres my hard hat.

Well each to their own
Guess what I bought yesterday so do not suppose you will want to park next to me at any time then
The bit I liked about one review of it was
"That if Batman was to design a Mini the Juke would be the outcome"
I love it looks as it is not like all the other cars on the road that mostly look if they belong in three different groups of design

I like it, in the 70's datsuns were funky cars with unusual styling, its nice to see something different from Nissan.

I don't really like it, it looks like a Lancia Stratos that's gone into the back end of a bus

The design of the original 510 is timeless..

This new design idea is pants..:smash:.

I may just hold on to mine now;)

I'm not that bad to force my opinions on to others but as Roy Walker suggests, 'say what you see'. I haven't driven one but it must have potential as they use them at the Gt Academy and they made a GTR spec version.

The GTR version would definitely be the ‘Batman’ version. It’s just my old boss drives a Juke, she’s a mother of two and it reminds me of a futuristic Fiat Multipla.

At the end of the day, if you like it that's cool; I’m just an identity on the forum.

I can't really say much as our daily is a family wagon is a diesel Seat pumping out a whopping 105bhp and is a space bus.

What I do like about it is that it's perceived as an oldie person's car. If I want to stick to the limit I don't get people flashing me as they have the perception that an old fogie is going to be driving it think 60 years+ in Honda driver's bracket.

When I do drive the 350z, you still get ends of bells trying to bait you, not as much as before but you still do.

I presume that this is the case with a GTR. Would like one but If I went out and bought one, I’d get a beating for spending the money for the extension lol.
