80's Roadsports

I was chatting to Matt today, we thought it would be better if 80's Roadsport wasn't restricted to Sports & GT cars - so saloons etc...

That way it would make the pack bigger and more entertaining.

Come to think of it, they should do that for the 70's too.
They already have.....Alfa GTVs, Camaros, Capris......260Zs

TVR 3000m ? went well as I remember, well so my grandad tells me...lol

Didn't stop though ! Wake up Grolls - we're talking about nearly the 21st century here !

I'd prefer a cheap and cherrful Capri - cheaper to fix !

New eligibility list

Right - no messing around - this is how it should be :

'80s Super-saloons + Sportscars

Turbos and twin/bi-turbos, superchargers and 4wd allowed ! (T / SC / 4wd)

Class 1 - Up 'til 1499cc N/A

Class 2 - Up 'til 1499cc (T or SC) and 1500 - 1999 N/A

Class 3 - Between 1500cc and 1999cc (T or SC) and 2000 - 2999 N/A

Class 4 - Between 2000cc and 2499cc (T or SC) and 3000 - 3999 N/A

Class 5 - Above 2500cc (T or SC) and 3above 4000cc N/A

4wd adds 499cc to N/A or T/SC displacement !

No homologations specials.

This was the era that Mr Smith could drive his family to Tescos in his supercar - the age of turbos after their use in F1 and rallying !

Not to include them will ridiculise the series and end up being a Porsche Cup parade !

Opening up the series as above will promote affordable racing again (who can buy a Lotus Elan now ?) and attract a larger and younger audience - these are cars that the paying public can remember seeing on the road - perhaps even owning and can identify with !

Now think of the car choice possibilities........
