280Z black pearl edition

I would want Jack Sparrow thrown in with it for that price!! 100 to 200 grand for a bit of black paint and the steering is on the wrong side.

I find it hard to believe this hasn't been restored, especially the paint work. If genuine - the paint work being in such a good condition should be in a museum simply for the lost technique used 😏

What do you mean with regards to that? The way in which it was painted? I know things have changed over the years and the way paints are made but interested in the part about the technique used.

Lost art; like when we forgot how to make concrete. I know there's reasons we don't do paint work like we used to, as we've improved upon paint composition, techniques used, tools etc.

It's the craftsmanship I refer to; the car in question looks as if it has a modern paint job. If that's factory paintwork that has just been polished up then, I'm amazed that it's lasted all that time.

Is a new paint job not considered part of the restoration process? Title of the article says unrestored?

I see what you mean and I agree a new paint job definitely constitute a restoration. I see no reason why a good detailer couldn't get the paint looking that good provided the car had been looked after in its life. I suppose it's a case of 'find another' when it comes to cars like these.
