Hi all, planning to install the Techoversions Diff support...looks like life could be easier if I remove the cross member shown...but clearly it provides support to the 'front' of the rear wishbones ..can it be removed while the car still sits on its wheels (ie up on ramps)..or would that cause the wishbones and rear end to move/spring out of alignment (car drop on my head ) ?....thanks allremove.JPG

You can remove the diff mount cross member without disaster. where are you supporting the car?

mmm, I'd be inclined to add axle stands, probably at the front inside of the rear suspension arms.

Yeah you shouldn't really remove this with wheels still on the ground for the reasons you stated. Ideally you'd want to support the diff as well or it will all be hanging on the rear studs.

Thanks, makes sense...a couple of hydraulic jacks under left/right front leading edges of wishbones...should do the trick !

I think the advice really would be to use axle stands, not hydraulic jacks... just in case.
