240Z LHD for sale

I think everyone who owns, or wants to own, a classic car is aware of this website anyway.

Disclaimer not required.

Yes that'd do me, but a bit expensive for a LHD in the UK.

On the limited info available from that advert it appears to be a good car and as it says it would be a fast road car and make a sensible trackday car too.

Inexpensive - what're you complaining about - they're being recognised as classics but people want 'em to remain at banger prices..........

Speak for yourself. I don't want the marque I love to become too expensive for me to upkeep or buy again. They can stay off the map as far as I'm concerned.

So, it is now valued at £25000 - what does that change for its' upkeep except that perhaps more choice of parts is available as more people restore them 'cos they're worth something ?

If you love it dead Dale, you don't buy another one again...........or at least you buy a second one NOW !

An increase in value makes it more cost effective for people to re-manufacture parts.

Why? As they can charge more for the parts?

Otherwise, it would need be an increase in the number of cars.

If the value goes up, then more people will save them, then their will be more cars, more choice for buyers, which could then de-value them?!

Despite the other thread, for the most, there is no profit to be made in restoring cars unless you are particularly skilled and don't count your time into the cost.

If our cars become worth twice as much, then parts traders will sell their wares for higher then they are now. They'd be crazy not to. I would. You would.

As far as I'm concerned, the only Zed owners who want their car to be worth more are those that are looking to sell or those with sorted cars that want to impress the Jones'.

Anyway, where would the satisfaction be in beating a Porker around the track if you car costs the same as a Porker?

1) I'm not talking about restoring or profit making - just an increase in demand, arising from a better public perception - this club SHOULD be promoting the cars !

2) No they wouldn't - they'd just sell more....and produce a better variety.

3) As far as I'm concerned, the Jones' can go blow themselves - if I wanted to impress with a badge, I wouldn't have bought a Z.

4) Don't kid yourself - Porkers'll always be more expensive because they're desired by more people.

You're thinking is too simple to debate against.

Is this the same car that has been advertised in Octane for the past couple of months for 23 grand?

Why? As they can charge more for the parts?

Our main issue is lack of panels,so (for example) imagine someone starts to remanufature inner wings, complete doors, full rear panels and rear quarters but the cost is £1k a piece - this isn't going to happen on a car that is only worth £5k when it's finished, but more likely to happen on a car which justifies the expenditure.
