240z for sale

Exceedingly good update Chris. :)

Gwyn....I look forward to your car being for sale and reading the ensuing critique that no doubt will occur here ...:). (All good I am sure....)

In fairness a lot of good information has come about from this thread, if repairs have been done well then this should not be an issue...you'd hope that at this price any prospective buyer has gone to properly examine the car and is therefore satisfied with the bid they've placed.

I also don't agree with number plates being hidden.

One day, if it's nit already happening, Datsuns will be stolen to order - flirting in public a means to track the wearabouts of your precious might be imprudent.;)

I can't upload the pics because 'a security token was missing' I've no idea what that is tbh, if anyone wants the pics to post, if they're relevant, I'll gladly email them to you

Thanks Steve, as you can see from the side pic the rear arches look squarer, I think I remember that people used to use Ford Granada/Counsol arches for repairs?

Perhaps we are all missing something here.

Maybe it's being bid to what people are genuinely willing to pay and we are all undervaluing our cars.

But yes rust/rot and filler free it definitely will not be.

What year would this have been? Any guess..

Just quite surprised that it would have needed rear arch replacement that early in its life:confused:

No, we aren't missing anything here at all.

Call me an old cynic ( or just been around the block ) but bids on Ebay mean nothing unless reserve is met and car is on sale.

New word of the week ' Shill '

Don't know if Albrecht had a bit of prior info or if he really is a Z seer, but all the Rudyard, ebay sale looks a bit shifty.
£27.500 bid, sell,sell,sell.

I know where you could pick up a true rust free, unwelded, filler free black 240z if you don't fancy this one. Plus it's way under half the price.

My car had been restored so I'd suggest about 1995, we were at the Enfield Show, Dave also had another 240Z in Silver VWX22N if anyone remembers it, sorry to digress.

In that case the aforementioned car would be 20+ years old and I guess it would be the norm to have rusty arches by then.

Yep, I had a pair on mine, sills and dog legs :thumbs:although I seem to remember the rear arches came with the dog leg section too .

It's a 70s car so wot do you expect, they all rotted, vauxhalls, fords, rovers, some worse than others

Back in the 70's, a business was allowed to write off a company car over 3 years, that was all a car was due to last in those days until it need major work. As Status say they all rusted, especially any car that was a daily driver.
