2017, The Year of the Windscreen Wiper.

You heard it here first.

My title was simply intended as a description of what Tim, Steve and me will be doing in 2016 . It wasnt intended to be a grandoise or sweeping statement about the year ahead in general or even about the forum and Im sorry if you saw it in that light..
There certainly wont be any content that you dont already know so I do understand your comment. Its quite funny but not as goood as some of your all time classics.:D

200bhp from an L28 ? Did I read you correctly Pete ?
Yes you did Sean.
In a similar vein to my reply to Albrecht I am fully aware that the thread wont be of interest to you given your existing knowledge and place in the S30 scene.
As its a public forum fyou are of course entitled to put comments up that may be sardonic, sarcastic or derogatory. But think carefully when you do . Is this the kind of image you are trying to put forward of yourself as a bonafide Trader on the forum who is invoved in the manufacture and supply of engine related components??

what else are you going to reinvent ?
Sean we are not attmpting to re invent anything.
I am trying to demonstrate to newer members or existing members who may not have been involved in engine building that its not neccessary to have a "Z specialist" build an engine for your S30 at huge expense.. And furthermore that its not neccessary to spend £10K on components like Steve has or Tim is currently doing.
This thread is about giving some on forum advice to those who want it in a similar way that we have given off forum advice to others like Lee/Vipergts.

Judging by the on forum comments from others and some off forum conversation going on it has the makings of a modestly useful thread.

Bravo chaps - can only advance the Z-scene within the UK.....what else are you going to reinvent ?

Second statement was a compliment ! (sorry) Can't do better than have up put a thumbs up to avoid ANY b and w word misinterpretation mate !:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

First, simply a question and intended as much for others' sake as for my curiosity....

.....I don't see how it could be interpretated as "sardonic, sarcastic or derogatory".

This smacks of another thread that you later removed re Steve's emerging car which also would be of interest to potentiel Z preparers.

Have a dram and come back to us with the rose-tinted glasses and let's follow a potentially good thread.

Second statement was a compliment !
The best complement you could pay me is never posting on any thread I start.
I can gladly return the complement by refraining from posting on any thread you start.

It's 16 here, just bloody wet!?

This was me at the station on Christmas Eve on my way to Devon, watching all the trains being cancelled out of our town!

My father in law, has a tradition of taking shotgun cartridges to pieces and using gun powder on the Christmas pud! This year he went for the prepackaged version - the smell afterwards was yummie! ;)

Make your mind up then....:D

As its a public forum fyou are of course entitled to put comments up ............

But if that's how you want to play 'it' - ok, I hear you but I won't condition that you don't comment on my threads.

Goodwill to all including Pmac during this festive season.

Well put Pete, some of us find wot you put up here interesting and can help some of us understand wot goes in to building a decent engine, ignore the scarcastic remarks from the usual shitheads,

Whilst i appreciate the time, effort and money that goes into many hispec engine builds/swaps, and i follow and read those threads with much interest.
It isnt something i want for my car, so threads like this with modest upgrades done properly and on a relatively sensible budget are very appealing, and that is exactly what i want for my car going forward :D

So Yes, please continue the thread Pete

and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

OK, to get back on track, Pete, can you tell us how that trigger wheel fits clearing the timing cover? my recollection is that the damper packs against the two drive gears, so if you just add a trigger wheel on the back of the damper, won't it foul the timing cover?

Keep the thread going and keep it on track(please)

Sadly on this forum its very difficult to keep threads on topic.
Spamming is common and it seems to be seen as acceptable..

I do have the luxury of my own traders section (subscription just paid this week;))
so with hindsight I should have posted it in there where I have moderator authority..

Normally I would lose interest in posting with the amount of off topic rubbish that has been thrown up on this thread.
However your response and others both off and on forum encourages me to continue.............

Good idea Jon.
Hopefully I have got rid of Sean permanently from my threads.
Im sure the other spammers have got the message also.......:smash:

They say one picture is worth a thousand words so here are some pics that may answer your question.
The engine does not belong to Steve, Tim or me and we didnt do the trigger install or the throtle bodies so detailed info is a bit thin.
As I already mentioned we are just commissioned to repare and replace the previous
f*** *p. on the crank.
Which is now all done..
Somehow we seem to have been landed with the reinstall job now.:D
Well thats OK cos he is a mate and we couldnt pass up on the opportunity of "ruining" a Samuri by putting fuel injection on it.

I think I'd move it to your Traders section if I were you. It's basically an 'advert', after all...

Or how about taking it off the forum altogether? You know, your old "Call or e-mail me off forum", "don't want to talk about it here" etc etc? Cure the issue of "spammers" once and for all, eh?

Little bit Chicken And Egg, isn't it?

Happy New Year though... :)

Yep, that explains it! from the earlier photos I thought it was a standard damper with the trigger wheel bolted on the back.
