1974 Datsun 260z Stolen Tonight in Dublin

It's hard to believe that someone would do that to a car that's obviously had a lot of work done to and means a lot to it's owner. If they want the wheels surely they could understand that!

Or perhaps they did it to order?

You must feel sick, I'm really sorry for you.

I feel for your loss..sickening scum bags.. has anyone got knife or a blunt pair of scissors cos I would have not hesitation in emasculating them.. scum

Just a note. I fitted a small switch in my car which cuts the power to the fuel pump.. i know where it is and no one else. I have tried it several times and I get about 200 yards before the car quits.

just a thought hope it helps some one.

wht did they put another wheel on the NSR ? is that a clue ?

Looks like they've used the spare to support that corner while pulling other wheels off. Maybe they didn't have enough to hand to prop the car up on otherwise. I've seen that done before when we lived in Salford years ago when someone in our apartment building had the alloys nicked from their car overnight.

Rob - these scum just don't give a ****. They have no empathy or respect for others, no basic socialization. The sheer fact that it is someone's pride and joy may be enough motivation to torch it.

They are subhuman as far as I am concerned and should be dealt with accordingly.

Very sorry for you and hope you can get something sorted out to replace it.

This is a tragedy!!
To have someone do that to such a rare car just for the wheels is disgusting!
You must be devastated as each of these cars are unique and very difficult to replace, I have always thought that the rarity of these cars would put them beyond the likes of the low life thieving scum, but obviously I was wrong:(
I guess that this is a heads up for us to be more vigilant and diligent about protecting our cars, I shall be removing my rotor arm pronto.

I hope the insurance give you a proper payout that will go some way in relieving the pain and anger you are feeling.

Sympathies

Anything is possible with the application of enough money. It's economics though. E.g. That Miura SV that was destroyed by fire earlier this year in London will be rebuilt. But it's a matching numbers car and one of only 150 built and worth seven figures. A Datsun 260z 2+2? Not likely to be worth it really.

I would be seething, every bit of me would be wanting to hurt the person who did this. If it was my car after I just restored it, I would be a broken man.
The amount of time gathering the parts, sourcing what you wanted from abroad, spending those days in for the fedex delivery guy to knock on the door for those parts you’ve won on ebay.

What gets me the most is the heartache of parting with money for those parts that you’ve had to pay import duty and V.A.T. on. That’s a sin!

In all seriousness, it’s disgusting. I mean, all that to rob the fella’s rotas. Just no friggin need. If they were something mega expensive, then I’d understand but this is just too cruel.

I know you didn’t have the car alarmed, I just hope the insurance decides to pay you back at least something.

Absolutley disgusted at such a wonton act of mindless destruction.
Little shi*ts.

Seeing that picture of the car burnt out made me feel so angry - and it is not even my car. Goodness knows how you must be feeling. It's all so pointless and mindless. Stealing the wheels is one thing - but why destroy the car? If that was my car I think I would make it my life's mission to hunt the bas***ds down. Hope the insurance pays up and you can get yourself another beautiful Z soon.

Just seen the photos! It genuinely saddened me, so sorry for you mate and so senseless!! :(

No consolation but, hope insurance company sort you out appropriately.

I have exactly the same thing, it also makes me feel a little bit like Mad Max! Mine is twinned as a battery isolator switch too.
