Apologies, It's all about me lol.

Yeah, T1R's are road tyres.

Are track tyres like a 888 ok or do you want full on Hoosier / mickey thompson tyres?

Here's a link to the Hoosier tyre list.

Define track

Drag tyres are completely different to "circle" track tyres drag tyres have a deformable tyre wall and very soft tacky compounds and growth characturistics
whilst circle track tyres have a stiff tyre wall and other specialised compound/treads (or not)

IMHO THE best all purpose road/circle track tyre is the R888 with T1R's way down the list (but a very good road tyre)

Even better viewing from 2:04 onwards in regards to softwall tyres.

Yes already using Toyo 888's as a fast road/ drag strip tyre

I think I have some old slicks but need to check size from a track car, but yes would be nice to try a true "drag" slick just to see.
If I can find something as a wheel/tyre package that fits then would be worth a try
(price permitting)

Guys, what is the impact on your transmissions with these super grippy slicks?

You don't want to get back to broken driveshafts etc.

The R154 gearbox I'm using should take pretty much whatever a 1j can produce. It does have a weak link in the box that you do have to watch out for. I've uprated all the rest of the drivetrain to allow for future mods. I'm now running bigger uj's on the rebuilt prop and chrome moly stub axles/companion flanges/driveshaft's along with the stronger Z31 CV's joints. I would hate to tempt fate and say its bullet proof so I'll just say its much stronger than the old setup. Previously I always had to be sympathetic to the drivetrain.

I bet shipping is more than the purchase price!

Says AU $24.20 - United Kingdom AusPost Registered Post International Parcel

Estimated between Wed. 10 Sep. and Thu. 18 Sep.

Can't see that being right ?

It wasn't lol, went up to $800 inc shipping lol

Think I'll give them a miss

It seems tyre pressures are pretty critical too!!

Wyn, allow for import tax, I got very stung on parts from Aus! :(

They look a bit like Rota Kyusha's - Rota's would be cheaper too but only go up to 15x9.0

Hahaha def cheaper. Driftworks sell rotas too but the also sell Work wheels now which I'm getting all hot and sweaty about.

Been trying to find a decent and reliable distributor for them for a while now. Getting stuff from the states/abroad just puts me off to be honest. Bloody tax on top of tax and import duties and probably some other tax on top which has put me off CCW's.

Anyhow, it would be great to hear the differences on how the drive feels on 15" Vs 17"s...

For use up the strip only ...
Still undecided which way to go so other then full drag slicks would 15" race slicks for circuit use be the next best thing over road 17" Toyo R888's ?
Excuse the terminology but sure you know what I mean
