15" Slicks Wheels - ZG Flares ?

Am thinking of using 15's on the rear of my 260z with slicks for running up the strip
But still want to retain the 17's for normal day to day use
So need something for track use only
What width 15" wheels n offsets do I need to fill the rear with ZG flares?
And what is the ideal slick tyre size width for the same ?
Arches have been cut away but don't want to go modifying the body any more to fit

You once owned a set of 4 Wyn

also depend how high or low you mounted your arches I think yours are quite high, A + point for you

Mine are 10 inches wide and I think 0 offset there near the strut and just on the arch line

All I need now is a pair of slicks to match and wind up the rear suspension, I must check to se if my blue z wheels fit the rear

In theory slicks are the way to go but, is it in the spirit of the competion between you guys?
It's sort of nice to say I'm the quickest of all my mates and, the car is still road legal.
After all if one of you goes the slick route then everyone else who's in the hunt will have to buy some to compete.

Just my thoughts :)

Just bear in mind that track/racing slicks are different from drag racing slicks.

So pick a slick for the correct use.
Dont buy used or old stock ones. They are normally available loads cheaper than brand new ones ..... but for good reason.;)

What size tyre would I need for a 9 or 10x15 rim?
Again to fit without cutting bodywork or flares ?

No prob with that as I agree
Just be nice to try them if its not too much grief
I still fully intend to run 17's as well, if only to give John a chance :D

I know a guy with a mk1 escort who uses old avon track slicks he gets cheap off ebay. He gets superb launches with at least 1 front wheel off the ground. I think, although not ideal, old track slicks are still better than road tyres. Have you seen the price of drag slicks? Then you,ve got to put them somewhere. Nittos are probably the best compromise as you can drive to the strip with them.

Times will come down but you will be competing against Mike's old drag times rather than road legal times. I'd sooner stay road legal.

Bring your slicks Dave and we can compare times.

Perfect thread which I've actually been looking into at the moment.
I think the opening question has been answered by vipergts

My arches have already been flared by the previous owner who welded in metal versions.
I'm thinking of sticking to 15x9 -53mm up front and also at the rears but am looking into possibly having 15x10 -53mm.

I've been looking at Yoko's AD08R but it's more realistic that I will have to get Toyo T1R's.

Still looking for a suitable slick size or sizes as those are road tyres/sizes are they not?
