Romas shares most things he does, however hes a professional outfit. Alan share's information in almost every post he makes on here.

Romas didin't share how he restored his dashes. Professional so amateurs should share ?
Alan shares info but not 'how-tos' and why should he....why should Christian ?

Some 'newbies' on here want all those years of costly and hard-gained knowledge for free or the price of a years' club membership......perhaps those people need to invest more into the club before claiming who should do this and that........maybe, just saying.

You ask Alan questions all the time, a lot of the time, the same questions again and again. Part of being part of a club/forum is sharing.

On April 1st 2023, 'The Z Club' will be renamed 'The Z Customers' in order to better serve the needs of those who have stuff to sell.
Before a lot of current members came along, there were many people breaking cars for parts to sell to other members and even MJP began with club money......why should such people be damned today ?

A service of proposing a part is offered - should they be free ? I don't get it.

There are no 'traders' on this forum. There WAS a traders section where said people could offer club member discounts.

I think it's fine for people to choose not to share / help, they just have to deal with being called out!

The conflict between people 'charging to help' (marking up parts they've sourced, starting a business to work on a common issue etc.) isn't unique to our club or cars.

Very true. Doesn’t mean it’s right either.

Ok, so I guess I'm the newbie you're referring to - not a problem. Only been a member for 3 years or so.

Yes, I joined the club to learn from all the hard-gained knowledge from past members. In return I will share my knowledge and experiences for other new members to learn from. It's how the world and clubs like ours evolve.

I'm not a great Fb follower, but I've seen negative comments about our club and the 'inner sanctum' of some of the elders. I can now see where they're coming from....

Hope everyone has a very happy New Year :)

There's a big difference between people posting information and/or doing 'how to' or 'this is how i done it' type threads working on their own cars and those members that are running a business/potential business not wishing to give too much away.

I'd love to see exactly how Christian repaired a dash, but would i expect the same knowing he does it as a future means of income?! absolutely not.

Taken me few yrs to get the dash upto a standard of where there OEM and with standgetting moved about without cracking

I took time out and bought products that I use in trade and trailed it

I got told youbcouldnt repair dashs!!!

I wouldn't to be proved wrong

This year I have seen a market in repairing dashs

Weather it Lhd or Rhd I would repair both

As a club I think it quite sad the comment I have read

There is actually loads people out there filling dashs USA and Australia

I took note and fort i could do the same

Duncan Z farm been filling repairing dashs for God knows how long

Fourways do the same

In the past I have shown certain members how to about it and what material I have used

But like I announced In nearly 31 I want make go of life
I have my shed and I really could work out of it doin Bits

Z SHED Services

So in all respect if you understand what i have written
What I could make a living from doin this

Really don't see any issue.

If people want repair there own dash do what I did and give it a go and make your own descion on how to repair

Let's see what 2023 brings

I have been a club member for god knows how long over 15yrs
I have always shared pictures i personally have took

And and you even use them on the zclub photos
Am actually upset at some of these comment

I want to make a business out of doin Z related stuff

There only fourways and zfarm which has reputation people know of

I am making a mark on the future of The Z scene

I would appreciate the support of what my plans are

Not bitching about me please!!!!

I think it was 'Aceman' did a really good job on a dash repair, it still looked good after a couple of years. he had loads of clear pics.

Tbh seeing how somethings done might give people a little more faith and trust in one’s abilities to do a long lasting repair where we are confident enough to shell out and not have the hassle of doing it ourselves?
Just a thought.

Sensible point Dan.

buying bits on the forum to then trade onwards is what gets my goat, it gets others also. If your a business, be clear about it and advertise as such. Not one person has 'bitched' about you. this is a club/forum, not just an advertising space.

I agree to a point, if your running a business showing what you started with and what you ended up with is exactly what people want to see. Telling everyone exactly how you achieved it makes no sense whatsoever.
