Fairlady 2/2 at Auction today

Good to hear, as much as the mirrors might be popular we should celebrate a good original car staying in one piece.

Hands up who thinks they will hike the price of the car based on what they find out about the mirrors?

Probabaly but then nobody bought it at auction for £20k - it's already competing with the 2x seater Zs and it reminds me of this car whose price goes up and down like a yo-yo - it was at £17k last year : https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C925428

And I know who they bought it from down in Bordeaux for around €12k (£10.5k) and done nothing since 'cept transport it back to Blighty. Even the advert text is old - they managed to sell the other, with a sunroof, for £18.5k I think and I know that seller too (€11k) - £9.6k.

Maybe not selling/price yo-yo'ing is something to do with the fact that it isn't what they say it is...?

I assume it's registered with the DVLA as a 260Z.

Perhaps they have hit a brick wall with bureaucracy?

Even if it’s registered with the DVLA as a 260Z, that doesn’t mean it is one. It maybe a model comparable to a 260Z, but it is its own thing, with specific features that a 260Z wouldn’t have. Those mirrors they removed, and several hundred pounds worth of rally clock for example.

Hopefully whoever buys it understands/figures out what it is and doesn’t f**k it up changing stuff.
