On the subject of wife not noticing - I happened to think for some reason that it was a good idea to put the heat shield and intake manifold on the Intensive cycle of the dishwasher. My wife DID notice when she next went to load the dishwasher - it smelled of intake manifold!!! ;)

Still married - so I figure I got away with it.
I'm still divorced, and I definitely got away with it! What you should have done is run the dishwasher again with a double load of 'detergent' to get rid of the smell.

Surely that's for an extension to the garage?
Well I am planning for the 100L 14.6cfm compressor to move out of the garage into there too, with air piped in via a condensing manifold/water trap (also in the shed) to a series of hard lines with strategically placed outlets and dessicant filters, etc. Dry, clean air suitable for painting...

The personal door on the back of the garage has already been measured for the addition of an explosion-proof extractor and filter!

Just buy yourself a decent compressed air dryer and forget the need for all the hassle of copper hard lines and outlets.

They aren't the cheapest pieces of kit though and my budget is tightened enough at the moment that other things have to take priority. Soldering up a bunch of copper lines and venting moisture traps is more hassle but considerably cheaper.

True,

can usually get a second hand unit for 200-250 worth keeping an eye out on ebay but potentially have to have it serviced when installed (or do it yourself)

I got constant s##t for having a pair of JDM-style bucket seats in the spare room for several months. Car bits that come in the house tend to be very temporary (apart from the Farndon stroker crank under our bed, which has been there for several years - too expensive to leave in the garage!).

When I did the Fairlady Z (going back 15 years, with us living in a little flat in Salford), I had the windscreens leaning against the wall under our dining table for 6 months! And rebuilt and did the mirror polishing job on the triple Dellortos sitting on the living room floor...

She's definitely a keeper!!! (and I'm not talking about your hareem of Zs either!!)

I got a lot of foul looks doing those carbs - and complaints when her eyes started itching due to the aluminium sanding dust that was in the air as I went through the wet and dry grades!!!

These days, I don't get in trouble much for car parts in the house; it's more my disappearances to the garage at every opportunity that draw ire. And having my most scruffy looking guitar on a stand in the living room rather than one of the expensive furniture-grade ones like my Les Paul!

I always thought you were cool but the Les Paul just made you 90% cooler! [emoji106][emoji106]

I just have a scruffy 35 year old strat which regularly becomes a 7 year old’s toy!

Have we gone off topic a tiny bit? !? Time for me to self moderate! [emoji1787]

Guitars are always good for a bit of off-topic banter! There are quite a few players in the club actually. It's that whole hero-in-their-own-head-guitar-player-with-the-cool-sports-car thing!!!
