RB 240z Conversion

if they have been rebuilt with steel internals it would be a very good result indeed :) 1 bar + would be possible :D

Simon

Picked up some nice bits from the Polishers today and left him some more bits to clean up.

So now the car all striped down

Seats Out
Dash out
Heater out
Carpet Set out

Have striped the rest of the rubber sound deading out now (bloody hours and hours had to use a heat gun and paint scraper to get it all off)

Found a little surface rust under a small part so am going to clean it all up with a wire brush and hit it with some Hammerite

Still waiting for the Block Sump and Oil pick up pipe to come back from the machine shop Finished

Dash will be stripped of all the Gauges and all new ones will be fitted, thinking about it it will be better to fit them on a bench.

Would post up some new pictures but the USB ports do not want to work !!!!

Save some choice tid bits for the mag Dave otherwise those that arnt online will get left out.

Anyway .....test day at the POD is only 2.5 weeks away, come on hurry up, no time for luxuries like sound deadening and seats

So you think you can do it quicker then??? :p

At an autojumble on the weekend I found so foam sound deadening stuff, weighed literally nothing (it almost floated) and looked pretty good, at £3 a roll. Much like the foam underlay you get. If you wanted sounddeadening but didn't want the weight might be worth looking for that? I in the grand scheme plan to use it instead of the foam you get in the roof lining etc and just glue the vinyl to it.

Anyway get of the pc and back out there and working on it.

Dash out from car and in the workshop at work.

Have bought a Nismo twin meter Turbo boost / Exhaust temp led gauge from Phil in Blackpool from his contact in Japan.

Have taken out the fresh air tube from the drivers side vent and fitted the gauge in there.

Next job is replace the other dash gauges.

Been to the Polishers to pick up some more shiney bits.;)

Both rocker covers and the coil cover have about 2 hours in each one, just stripping of the old paint.

Had the intake manifold vapour blasted before that was polished.

Beware of magpies!

The RB motor is a very pretty one indeed :) looks even better after a bit of attention from the polsihing wheel :D

what have you done with the inside of the intake manifold? I seem to recall something with stripping the inside coating of either the manifold or the throttle bodies that causes some running/idle issues.......

I know there were some other posts about this but can't find them now!
