I think you need to go back to basics and try to understand exactly what is happening inside a plate / clutch type LSD.
It was plain to see that your LSD wasn't limiting very much of the slip - ie, one driveshaft was spinning more than the other. That - to me at least - indicates a fairly low breakway torque setting. It has nothing to do with power or torque over and above the amount that is needed to get one wheel spinning; everything else is about the LSD setting at that point.
These things are difficult to explain in words on a forum like this. I could do with some models / cutaway examples in front of me to help explain what is going on.
One question: did you check the LSD clutch / shim packs internally before bolting the diff into the car, and/or did you check the breakaway torque setting? ( and I'm not talking about what somebody 'told' you........ ).
And I'm not saying that your LSD is 'faulty' or anything like that. I'm just pointing out that its 'limiting' of slip is quite benign from what I see. I'm sure you are quite happy with it. After all, your car is not a race car..........
