So what fuel do you use in your Zed then???
I use LRP cos I cant get it to run on paraffin. Summat about the octane bein a bit low.
I once tried my Zantia turbo diesel on LRP too, but thats a long story!!!!

both race cars run on esso superplus.unleaded to run on the road . you get what you pays for in this life

Shell Optimax or Super Unleaded, both seem to work equally as well. Don't think LRP is really suitable for any kind of performance engine, which is just about every Zed...

Perhaps I should have said originally that I always add one of those little yellow tins of lighter fuel to each 40 litres of LRP, just to ensure a faster flame burn across the sqish area of the cylinder head.

very technical pmac Im impressed LRP is ok for standard engines as is unleaded but as soon as you want it to go then you have to spend the money

That created a bit of rapid response then! I thought we had covered this topic effectively in the past, but.....

LRP, by the petrol manufacturer's own written statements, is NOT suitable for high performance engines and sustained high speed use (i.e a trip down the motorway). It is likely to cause damage to a performance engine if used long term. I have reports of Z32 owners who have used it and caused running problems and/or non-starting which have been cured by use of Super Unleaded or Optimax. The magic lighter fuel additives will not, in my opinion, alter the fact that LRP is not a viable product for use in any Z or ZX engine. Also note that, after all this time, LRP has still not been given a British Standard approval.

I also forgot to tell you techno types that I usually add a little drop of oil to the mixture, just to really get it going.
I have found fish oil to be best for this. The easiest way to achieve the right effect is to tie a brightly coloured herring to the filler flap. I always think that RED HERRINGS give the best effect. It certainly has in this instance!!!!!
Nuff ZED for now!!
I'm off to thegarage to polish my rocker cover or summat!!!

Nothing fishy sniffed here.....this is a serious topic! I have in the last week had a Z32 owner who thought it was fine to run the car on LRP!
Smoke me a kipper.....!

don't use nothing as the fcuking 280 wont run
