What colour stock wheels ?

Can anyone tell me the original colour (black, very dark-grey ?) of the 240Zs' stock 'n factory steel wheels please ?

I've read that they are very similar (the same?) as the colour of the rear panel. Apparently the closest to that is Duplicolor Graphite WP 102 (which doesn't seem to be available in the UK but you might be lucky in France)

Stock steel wheel (made by TOPY) colour from 1969 through 1973 was satin black on outer face and flat silver on inner face.

Possibly confusing hubcap paint colour with actual steel wheel colour there.

Thanks Alan - please will you better define inner and outer surafaces (do you mean front and back ?) ?

TOPY pressed and welded the wheels, then sprayed them satin silver all over. Then they painted the outside face - the bit you actually see when they are on the car unless they have a hubcap on - black. The black was an almost matt satin black.

So black outer face, silver inner face and silver under the tyre.

Thnaks Alan - I can't remember the last time I saw a set of originals on or off a car and never in good, painted condition.
