I was under the impression that US S30s weren't supplied with rear ARBs - but looking at the photos of this car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Datsun-26...523397?hash=item54486f8e85:g:Bi4AAOSw4CFY3QIw
it clearly has the same (I think...) rear ARB as my car.

Anyone know the full story?

Thanks Alan. I just read (classiczcars.com) 55611-E8100 was only used for 1 year. Is that a 240 centric view? Or just wrong?

Albrecht is correct, no ARB were standard on 70-73 240Z in the states.

The ARB in the picture is actually a 260/280 ARB used in the states, it wraps around the front of the diff.

The early cars (70-73) used a BRE style ARB that wrapped around the rear of the diff and attached to the down legs. Pic attached.

Just out of interest what does the RHD / Euro spec ARB look like - I tried googling it but couldn't find any pictures.

They look like the photo in my first post.
I.e. There is only one OEM rear ARB, it just wasn't fitted on US cars until late '73.
Thats what I think I've learned in this thread anyway

There are two design shapes - one for R180 differential equipped cars and one for those with R200. Former has a stepped centre and latter is straight..
