UK 260z driver seat

As I sat in the passenger seat to do a job, I realised just how much my driver’s seat is showing it’s age. I would say I’m sitting 3” or more lower in the car - which explains why the cloth is being pulled away from the vinyl.

I’ve seen some different variations on seat fixes - e.g. the new insets from MSA -has anyone got experience with the MSA inserts and are they any good?

I was wondering if you guys have any tips / tricks / links to favourite write-ups on how to best restore the seat springs / or inserts. I strongly suspect my springs are stretched. This was a good write up but I like the springy seats I have - not sure those straps are going to be comfortable or do the seat foam any favours.

Additionally, if someone has a decent cloth / vinyl 260z seat and wants to sell it to me, I may just replace the whole thing as an easy time saving fix.

Last option is to take it to the local classic car trimmers and part with an unholy amount of cash.

I actually really like the seats and definitely don’t want to change them for aftermarket ones. I’ve always found them comfy and supportive in spirited / track driving.

I can only speak from experience but I'd probably go for the last option for longevity and go for leather in the process.

New set of retrimmed seats for 240z here or set of older 260z seats, if you are interested.

Thanks buddy - would love to see photos if you have some.

Truthfully, I'm still trying to make my mind up on whether:

1. I keep the cloth centre pieces and try to find a trimmer to match them with new cloth
2. Pay someone silly money to do them in leather and alcantara
3. ditch the original look and go 240z style leather.

Ps. Just found this more recent thread with some interesting reading / info: https://zclub.net/community/index.php?threads/seat-upholstery-kits.29266/page-2

I got new seat base and back foams from https://www.aldridge.co.uk/ - quality looks great but I haven't done the seats yet. But they're the only people in the UK selling them.

They do sell the leather covers but they're pretty spenny!
