spares....

well, I need some help.... I received a couple of boxes of parts with my recent 240z purchase and I actually dont know what to do with it all. I mean there are 3 fans, 3 starter motors, up to 5 carbs, 2 driveshafts, a steering column, 3 of the side flip up panels (that covers the battery), 3 spare rear screens, standard camshaft, etc

I know there are going to be a few parts that I want/need, like the trumpets and filters, but no idea what to do with the rest. I realise that some of it may be of now use and may need to be just binned....

Here are some pictures:-

Just list in in the classifieds and/or eBay. Lots of it will sell and lots of it wont.

Wow!! That's quite a haul!!!!

Would love to test a couple of the rear screens to see if the heating elements work as mine gets power but doesn't de fog! Would be great to see what the resistance on a good one is etc.

Would consider it, but I dont know what half of it is and whether its even worth listing

If you have the space store it until you know more about the cars and you find out what you might need.

Otherwise try selling as a job lot in Classifieds.

Good shout....

Also happy to trade..... I will be after a few parts, mirrors, bumpers, light surrounds, doorcards, mirrors, carpets, roof (removal of sunroof), doors, front fenders :)

You could be onto a right bobby dazzler with that little lot

Get it all boxed up for the summer and go to an event like Zed - Fest for the weekend. Put your stuff out for sale and see what happens. Each year I am amazed at what people bring and what others take away. You won't make a fortune but your pile will get smaller.

Or alternatively, keep it all in case you might need some of it at some time, or somebody else might need some of it at some time.

It's not always about the money...

Cool idea, but it wont all fit in the Z ;)

Its not about the money.... I dont really have the space to keep it all and I dont know if its worth listing, IE. is it in good working order?

You know what, you are right....

Im based near Redhill in Surrey, if anyone sees parts they need, let me know. Dont fancy posting stuff, but you will be welcome to collect some parts. I travel up to Grantham, Silverstone, Donnington, Rochester, etc quite often, so happy to take stuff with me when I go.

Cost, well if you are not a paid up member on the forum, pay up, thats it.

Ali wants a rear window
Toni1 wants the distributor

I will leave this run for a week or 2 and then whatever is left will be passed on as job lot (Franky was the first in for that, so first refusal will go to him).... minus the parts that I am keeping.

Im pleased this has turned in to a general "for sale"/ swop" thread.
That might have been the intention anyway:rolleyes:
It just serves to highlight the nonsense of the current Classified system with its restrictive and confusing format hidden away and with a set of "rules" that few understand.:(

As said already ... no wonder most members including committee members just list on eBay instead.

It was the general intention.... unless there was a "golden" part in there ;)
