Datsun 240Z UK market RHD 1971 Barn Find survivor. Only 47,000 genuine miles, in Safari Gold 920, HS3000978 early chassis number. Reg EHU38K.Confirmed by Nissan as manufactured in June 1971 and first registered in the UK November 1971. Original logbook shows one owner since 1972 and that the car still has its’ original engine.
The second owner did a handful of rallies in 1973 after the addition of a basic 4 point cage, harness, KONI shocks and HD springs, strengthened rear strut towers, competition M+S tyres, Cibie spots and a full length chassis skid plate. The cage and skid plate are no longer with the car, they were removed when the car was returned to road duties.
After it’s brief period of rallying it remained a road car until the late 70’s until it was parked up in the owners garage and then subsequently a barn until recently. This extended period off the road has no doubt saved the car, having avoided the ravages of the UK’s climate.
The Z is remarkably solid and the engine still turns over by hand with a socket on the crank nut. I have not tried to start it as the fuel pump was off the car with a split diaphragm as well as giving due consideration to the length of time since the car last ran. I did pop a battery on and most of the electrics seem fine including a working clock and under bonnet light! Also has a perfect dashboard!
Very rare UK market survivor with low mileage and low owners. For restoration or recommission and use as is.
Offers around £20,000
