Realistically, £10 or £20 isn't a huge amount of cash, and I'd happily pay it for access to a good technical articles & advice section. Or even increase club subs a bit and make techie bits members only.
well said i think, i shall give you an example, god i shouldn't admit to this but this morning i installed the front and rear wish bone bushes. yes you guessed it the wrong way.... a post in a tecnical section would have made me check the lenth of the bushes before hand instead of that,AFTER i had done it i noticed some thing not right...f**k F**k F**k... now i gotta put it right! hey no ones perfect....lol.

WHAT PPL THINK OF CAR CLUBS. my perception at first before joing here!

1. boring anoracs gassing about sod all down the local b&q car park in the pissing rain.

2.a blatant disregard for anyone but themselves when it comes to doing donuts in the local pub car park.

3.cheaper car insurance.

4.cheaper spares.

5. no back up or help but who gives a toss cos me bits are cheap through the club anyway and im sure i could get help if i needed it with my contacts and mates.

well i think i could list many more thoughts on this subject but i cant see the point........ as i said before the club needs to evolve and standing by the sidelines and not chipping in and helping just means the club will eventually fold due to rising costs etc.

i would like to point out that some of the original thoughts i had of car clubs has proved me wrong when i joined the club. can i invite everyone to take a step back and think what they can do for the club then forward their deepest thoughts to steve!

What a great idea :)

Just say we did plan to seperate the site so members have more features would anyone be able to contribute to a technical section? I will one day but I'd need a Z first :D

Ive just recently joined 300ZX.co.uk and soon discovered that I couldnt do any contacting ,editing profile etc without becoming a "subscribed " member. So I just paid up £20 and now I can access the whole site and take part in group buys etc. I saved more than my subscription on my first purchase.
It obviously works for them. Why not us????

I know its a stupid question but as a new Z32 owner what made you go and join the 300ZX forum and if you were new to the z owner scene which club would you go for
I am certain I know what the answer is but would like someone other than myself to point it out
(Note to all posters AND READERS this could be the one of the most important disscusions in the clubs history it does effect you all)

If when you are looking for information on Z/ZXs you use a search engine like Goggle,Yahoo,Jeeves etc what words do you use to find what you are lokking for?

Again a silly question but there may be a few the Club has entered in the discription

This certainly is one of the biggest issues facing the Z Club for many years.
Im convinced that web members need to pay in order for the club to thrive.
It obviously doesnt work on a volountary basis if we judge it by member numbers. Honest comments by Grolls and Gunvat back this up.
I joined 300ZX Steve because 1. I knew about the group buy facility. 2. The Z club forum is a little weak technically in this area.(Excuding Mr F of course) 3 The for sale/wanted /Help sections
are fairly active on 300ZX site. Not only have i done my first group buy Im now making my first purchase from another member.
Personally I will also enjoy some of the more "robust" banter that does go on on 300Zx co uk. Many years ago John -Boy suggested that I might enjoy the "Fight Club"
It wasnt a reason for joining, and some ofthe banter is OTT, but I dont mind
I might also go to some of the Midlands 300 meets as the Z club is struggling somewhat in this area of Britain to get enough members for a day out.
Being a 240Z owner also means that I will always be a Z Club member, but IF I didnt have that car and was a new person to the whole scene, well I dont know, it might be different. OK. Nuf Zed

" Billing 2004 ,rigorously proved the statement, 'One Club, all car's' . The turn-
out & mixture of Z's & it's owner's,seen as one entity ,is the enticement factor
& attraction to the 'Z club'.
To me the club, has awesome pedigree & has the credential's & car's to
stand out worldwide as a club to be reckoned with.
My initial, year's were spent as an clubless owner of Z's,but curiousity led
me to become an member.
On becoming a member of this very club,The welcome & hospitality offered by
everyone made me feel part of something great! & that's what this club is.
In my everyday life, I get all age group's being inquisitive about my Z,
& personally I don't believe that one has to be any particular age to admire,
gaze & ask , what is it? & like the Z.
Make other's feel they too can share & belong, that they too can own
,maintain & have what we sometimes take for granted.
Honesty, & passion for the club.....................DJZ 60.:)

I took my 260 out today for a quick spin to Southend (no exciting reason I'm afraid) and over the course of that 60 or so mile round-trip I reckon a good hundred people or more must have stared or done a double-take. Now, assuming that they were admiring the car and not the driver (a safe assumption I think), that means that these cars still turn heads. If we want to attract new members to the club or new Z/ZX fans in general, we need to get the cars out and get them where people will see them.

How's about a group trip the the next Max Power cruise?

Hehehehe... just kiddin' :)

I have moved this thread from SOAP BOX to here as it is such a serious matter and should be kept strictly on topic.

BACK ON TOPIC.
General information, tip's & advice is good ,for those less able,
in the routine maintainance, & mechanical upkeep of the Z series car's.
Advice on restorer's & part's supplier's is also very handy to a newcomer
or someone coming back into the world of Z's.
I think a systemised category logging,service,suspension,bodywork,
brakes,upgrades etc.narrow's down,constant repititious post's & thread's.
Under these various heading's(under vehicle type) people can post & add
technical & advisory measure's.This would reduce ten different thread's for
tyre's for example.
In otherword's quantizing information, with an editing administrator,
who watches over the info, maximising the quality of 'Tech Tip's'.
If overall,everybody respect's everyone else,refraining from 'bad
language' & vulgaritie's,a more mature domain can be reached.
I can do 'serious',' banter' ,or downright 'on another planet' but also
feel that ,I know my car 'inside out, upside down, having carried out all work
myself. So what more can I say about 'my car'? it's got wheel's an engine etc,
but don't other car's have wheel's & engine's?
It's a Z, but at the same time it's a car...................DJZ 60.

DJ: I have something in the pipe line that might fit with what you're suggesting. It's called reviewpost and an example can be found at

http://www.v6performance.net/reviews

Keep going down into one of the sections until you see a product review. You could have a tyres section with reviews/comments or a 240 parts section or EVEN a 260 2+2 section....

That is way better than I had anticipated,& I think I'm correct in assuming that
that may be benificial to the Forum,& in reflection,The Z Club.
The same line's, that you have pre-thought about, prior to my
above post, reflect's too, my desire to be a part of 'the best' or atleast put the
wheel's in motion toward's perfecting & ironing out minor crease's in anotherwise
evolving Forum. DJZ 60.
