reason for the distraction from my z

Hi mike, the engine will be mapped and hopefully flame on the over run but I will have to be careful as the exhaust exit is going to be in the top of the side pods so dont want to get the fibreglass too hot.
Thanks for the words of encouragement though. The gurston grin is going to be massive though and long overdue. How has your season been?

Boys Oh, they look weird without all the body and bits :)

Hope you're going to set up the fuelling by the Freddie Dixon method of getting the flames the same colour as they come out the exhaust stubs :)

Yep it looks weird, pointy and engine installed back to front (exhausts ;-) ). Freddie Dixon - I have a book about him - what a character!

Thanks for the update Ben.

Hi rob, the exhausts run forwards from the collectors through 180 degrees then into the silencer that mounts under the side planks with the exit in the top of the sidepods about midway along the engine.

This will help to take some weight away from the back of the car and also was far easier than trying to thread the pipes through the rear suspension/driveshaft area.

Ben

Had my annual Craigantlet outing and just held off a lightweight MGB to keep my class crown, otherwise busy sorting out the engine to my own satisfaction, cam, adjustable sprocket, valve springs etc, I just like to fiddle away at it :)

Progress this week
Throttle cable attached both ends, involved making swarf.
Pedal box in
Steering column top mounting made
1st idea on side pod length and shape. I love mdf
Steve burns, I still cant find a place for the front door

progress

A bit more progress this week with the rear wing mounted on the mark 1 version (mdf) and the side pod cut out in I think the final shape. The rad and exhaust are now mounted inside the pod in the final place now.
Just another 2000 jobs to do:cheers:

Getting there Ben....might need a "Don't push on the ******* wing" sticker though :)

I wouldn't want to have to pay for a set of tyres for it -a mate has just replaced a set of slicks on his SRG single seater for a rather large amount of cash.
