So after waiting 9 months for our normal Body Shop to take the car I think I need to find somewhere else. They lost a guy and just can't catch-up

Any suggestions for somewhere that will do a complete respray. We can strip it and really it needs only one little fix welding wise. The running gear is out its just on its suspension for the 4 wheels

Help

A mate of mine has just had his Boxster repaired by a place in Basingstoke - I can get the details …. he’s very happy with it …

Revive! in Basingstoke so he tells me. At first glance it just looks like a SMART repair franchise but don’t let that fool you he says. Very good service and he’s very happy with the work they produced (silver Boxster). What their facilities are like though I have no idea - oven etc. I have no experience of them at all - sounds like you might need someone more used to respraying whole cars maybe … there used to be a place in Ewelme near Benson that was very good … this place I think …

Hi not easy currently , most GOOD , shops are stacked and not taking any more work , if he will take a booking best guy in our area is Graham at Williams in Otterboure , between
Winchester and Eastleigh , his work is spot on , does all the RS owners club stuff , and we know how fussy they are .

I got my body work finished off and fully resprayed ie glass out with new rubbers in for £5k exc vat

So £6k then. I paid that 10 years ago for bodywork to be finally prepared and then a full spray job. I felt like I did overpay a bit in the end as I had given them a shell bar the wheels but the clearcoat was not cheap stuff … and I ended up with overspray on the steering gear … grrrr. And Mustang engine bays are black … and his original price was £4500.

He did say bodywork finished off though? What level of prep was already done?

5k IMO is cheap. A good paint job on a Z sized car now should be north of 8k.
