Take a look at the bosch range of combined boost/temp sensors. Used as standard on many cars and great quality.

Looking forward to seeing your results, was the turbo used for previous car that made 516hp smaller or bigger than your current turbo?

Was previously fitted with a Holset HX35/40 hybrid Turbo, so around the same?
Am using a genuine GT35, which should still be capable of the 500 - 600 range
I think ...

Should definitely make over 500HP with a GT35 and with pretty good response too. Will be great when finished.

Just got back from a long ol day but better late then never ... !

Final power results are ..... 592.8hp @ 7400rpm :D

will take pics n post up the rr power graph tomo

Have a nice drivable car now.... till it hits 4.5k then all hell breaks loose
That includes traction in 2nd gear
Never had a car that could spin up in 2nd as it comes on power, so need to get used to that !!

Ended up with 2 stage boost as well which is nice, 500 low - 592 high
Also have a rev counter that now reads right as the operator also dialled that into the ecu as well.
Very cleaver piece of kit so all in all well pleased ... :)

Looking forward to seeing it run. Surely that's enough to see a 10. If you take it to santa pod on Sunday you should be able to get it weighed.

Just got back from picking up a new slave cylinder so hopeing to make it Sunday.

John need to get used to it first.
Anything in the 11's will be nice for now :)

Weather permitting I might get it weighted tomo
If not no issue

Awesome amounts of power there. How come it gains 200bhp in 500rpm? Could you level the curve up below 4500rpm? Thats got to be a right handful, I'd be buying some new underpants :)

That's crazy power Wyn you nuttter. I was hoping for 550hp with mine and was thinking that would be too much.

500HP on low boost is a lot, will be a handful even with that sometimes, I was thinking 400hp on low boost would be good for me.

You must be able to get a 10 second run with that power after some practice.

Big turbo coming on song properly, once they start to build proper boost it just takes off.

I've driven my car a lot over the last 3 years and you do get used to the power. The 400ish I make feels good but never too much for the car, unless the weathers really ****. The car could handle more without too much trouble. 200hp more and you could get in trouble pretty quickly. Have fun.

I guess but having a more linear curve would make it easier to drive and ultimately faster also. I would have thought you can tweak cam timing/ignition to give it more lower down?

Showing my ignorance of Turbo controls here:

Can you alter the boost via a 'knob' inside the car (that's no reference to you Wyn ;) ) ?

If so that would be a great way of getting the most effective power for the conditions.

Whilst speaking to the guy who mapped it yesterday I was told I could have the boost come in earlier if I fitted a smaller exhaust housing to the turbo
But at the expensive of its top end power. tbh am happy as it is for now as it makes power all the way till past 7k which was only set to stop the std cam lifters "pumping up"
Again I was told it could make more power if I was to change the std hydraulic lifters to solid lifters but that's a head off job n diffo cams again!
Am happy as it is for now :)

Not so much, its always going to be there, you should how the power looks on some bigger turbo setups, definitely not suited a lightweight RWD. That's one of the reason I stayed twin turbo for my setup. I drove a 600hp EVO 7, it was a beast on boost but until 3500 it had nothing and then it came in violently, not really that much fun on the road.

Yes you can, You can set it up to run low boost normally and switch to high boost using a switch on the dash, this is what I am doing, but you can also have a multi position knob setup with different levels of boost. Wyn mentioned two stage boost, not sure if he is using a switch or if he has it setup with two boost levels on the one map.

With nearly 600hp  how could you not be, should be enough for good unless you are a complete nutter?

I once had a s4 Avant, with the 2.7turbo lump. I can remember when I had that played with we ended up lopping 50bhp off the possible 'max' number to give it more shove lower down, ended up with a nice straight curve, ended up being faster than a friend who had exactly the same but chased the high numbers.

All the mega boosted evo's/subaru's etc drive all or nothing just because they're chasing a large peak number.

As you've got such an awesome engine fitted you can have it all. Would you not trade 50bhp off the top for 100bhp lower down? It'd be easier to launch and quicker(except V max which would be torque dependent).

Such an awesome engine:thumbs:
