That mount does look the part too!!

Would be nice to have one here now to try n see where the mota/box ends up.

Sort of decided on what’s happening next now tho, use the org mount but hang it from the rear brks only (tut tut lol)… but then make up a U plate to carry the weight to the frt mount pickup points.

Think it’ll work lol

If not a few sparks might be bouncing down the rd the 1st time I give it large.

On the search for a remote oil filter kit now

1 step forward 2 steps back

One of them days today :(

Most of the morning wasted looking through shelves of flexi hydraulic lines hoping to turn up a suitable candidate for the clutch slave cyl. No joy there! Then was given a remote oil adaptor, but then looked everywhere trying to locate the rest.

Nothing doing there so off to Earls @ Silverstone to see if they could help.

Behold, got me a pukka 240 to TVR braided hose made up whilst I waited, which was very good of them, also bought me the rest of the filter housing plus a few unions.

Back home bolted it all up n found the clutch hardly moved

So all apart again n try the matching TVR master cylinder

Fascinating fact no 185693

A TVR clutch master cylinder bolts straight onto a 240z lol, not tried it yet as it got to dark n I am knackered lol

Just have to wait till tomorrow now :D

LOL.

I can feel a shock TVR/Datsun Z car revelation coming, like the TVR is just a clone of a 240 with different panels, or something along those lines. A secret TVR kept hidden from us all.

All this progress, now you're just rubbing it in ;)

Hehehe... its quite sad when this thread is the highlight of my day! :D

I can see it now... a TVR/240/250 GTO :D hehehe :D

Lol, today was a bad day, to much time wasted :(

Bring on tomorrow n see what can be done then :)

Do you think you'll have it built in a week?! :D

Does the engine run? I presume it was running before you put it in! :D

Can't you install a live video feed or something?! :D

Wyn, you should be on scrap heap challenge mate, amazing really. I see a great magazine article here. :D

Luv to say yes, but to many things will be holding me up now, but if it makes any odds I've now got it turning over on the key ;) :D result !!

Sorted the clutch master cyl today aswell as the throttle cable, centred the engine in preparation to get the mounts made, joined up a few wires, connected a fuel feed, positioned the ecu n had lots of cups of tea lol

Oh, started on the pop aswell ......

Fascinating fact no .....185694

A TVR prop is nothing like a 240z prop lol

So out with the grinder n cut the nose off the Z prop, then sorted a matching Cossie prop, only as reference tho as it's to rusted to use. Will get another tomorrow I hope

Doesn't this man have a non-Zedding life???

Blimey, slow down Wyn, I'm getting tired just reading the posts!

No no! Keep going! I'm busy watching the build a car series from Discovery channel (where the bloke builds a kit car from a Sierra) this is the perfect compliment to that show! :D

Also keeps me entertained at work! More photos please! :D

this is amazing. that engine is a monster. beauty and the beast married (hopefully) in perfect harmony.

you'll have to get it tested i want to what it's performance will be.

first i seen of the thread...amazing work mate,...jezus...makes me look like a snail!.....anyone got any pics with drawn on arrows as to where I'd check / fill my gear box oil (280 box i think, on my 260 2+2)....just wanted to check it and have never 'been there' before!

si

Propshaft is now away being made, not cheap but my only option.

Spent the rest of the day fitting a fuel pump n live feed....

Pump started out like this...

Old fuel lines were like this ....

Now looks more like this...

and this.......

pump3.jpg

Yes, I know it hasn't got a surge tank yet, Thats next ;)

Amazing how long it took to fit that pump etc n run a live feed to it, run it all under the carpets/trim etc to get to the rear. Added a new frt to rear fuel line aswell. Still atleast it's another job done now :D

Tomorrow hope to shorten those exhaust headers by a few inch, should be able to run the std rad that way :)

Nice work my man!

Where are you getting your prop made up? Custom prop is on my shopping list once my T5 and the short nose diff are in.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob

I’m having the prop made by RecoProp in Luton

Took both parts there today n should be ready later next week.

Will be using the org Cossie frt UJ, but then onto a new yoke, from that into the Z tube but then finishing off with a larger Cossie sized tail joint (their advice) but still retaining the original Z small bolt pattern. Should be the part when it’s ready

Ended up just shy of £190 all in

LONG BY WHOS STANDARDS!! :D

Most of us take years to do this much lol.

Good work though, keep going!

Yes rob, that's them...

Today was wiring day :(

I had to make this lot work ......

loomplug111.jpg

So I did lol :D

Out with me new manual n plenty of tea

tvrloom1.jpg

Ecu will end up either screwed to the n/s kick panel or maybe above the glove box lid, be out of sight either way :)

tvrloom3.jpg

Now got ignition, fuel and starter, so it can't be that far out :D
