Probably worth it.

if it really bothers you, about £150 for a bullet type camera and 4" screen showing the view from the passenger side.

Franky, are you seriously suggesting that you would look into a 4" screen and base an overtaking decision on what you can see on that? I would be surprised especially as you are a 'biker'.

...........Wouldn't consider a RHD Z now.

Bet you would if a rust-free one came up for sale.

The people who sing the praises of a LHD car in the UK are usually the people who have got one and convincing themselves it's better.

Why not be honest and say I have a LHD car because it's original, rust-free and I don't want to spoil it. However I have to be careful when overtaking but as it's not a daily driver that's fine.

Agreed, apart from the first bit. If a rust free original RHD drive car (if there is such a thing) came up for sale I couldn't afford it and even if I could I wouldn't pay the money.
Also planning on doing a Europe road trip at some point so it'll be handy driving in the correct position on unfamiliar roads.

I would never consider a RHD car for the reasons others have mentioned and because the LHD just feels a bit different. I love the untouched metalwork on all the cars I've bought from the US. I think they are a pleasure to own rather than the majority of RHD cars that require rust repairs to keep sound. The true rust free unrepaired/unrestored UK RHD car are probably out of most of our price range and you probably wont want to drive it all the time for fear of deterioration.

Stripped and repainted/sealed the floors on the green car today and it was a pleasure not to have to repair any holes.

No Rob, I'd read the road and plan ahead so lhd isn't a worry :)

It's just a thing I've seen some people use. A 70's camera would be too big anyway!!

..........

A bit light-hearted for a Saturday night - some scenarios:

Your wife goes into labour and when the Ambulance turns up it's LHD and in a hurry!

You call a taxi, it's LHD and someone has to sit in the front.

You call your insurance company for a quote and they ask 'is it RHD' and when you answer LHD they say 'oh good sir that'll attract a discount for you'.

You arrive at a car-park barrier backwards so you can put your money in.

All I'm saying is 'like for like' RHD is better in the UK surely. But a LHD rust-free car is better than a RHD rusty car.
