I'm trying to find a link to someone who had chopped a 240Z to bits and was fitting the top part onto a GTR.

Did this ever progress?

I think the chap got frightened off with so many people saying that he was taking the identity of an RB35 and registering it as a Datsun.

His original posts are still on the site under 4 WD Nissan R35 Datsun 240Z build. He started the post in about December 2018. His name I think was Josh and he was part of the family that owned a Nissan specialist near Bristol.

Yes Josh at SVM and I convinced him to join when I went over and saw him. Don’t think he’s bothered about posting on here again after the responses and i don’t blame him.

Strikes me that some people are delicate souls. I thought he got an equal balance of pro/neg comments, and some fair questions were asked.

I reckon if you are going to build something as radical as that (wasn't he quoting "1000 to 1500bhp" and "keeping it practical" in the same paragraph?) then you need to be prepared for the fact that not everybody is going to want to join your fanclub. A little scepticism is a healthy thing.

I can't find a link to his original thread, can anyone help? Either the search system is poor or I am an idiot, most probably the latter.

I don't think he was particularly bothered about posting here anyway and I doubt very much he particularly cared for anyone's view on here. I also know the build hasn't progressed much... so that's another reason he hasn't posted up I suspect.

Oh I agree, but do you walk down the street and tell someone you don't like what they're wearing to their face? Somethings can be kept to yourself. I understand giving a view point if someone asks for it ...

He started a thread. Nobody started heckling him in the street.

From his very first post:

"Any questions fire away".

Do people honestly imagine they won't get asked any questions about vehicle identity, IVA and other legalities for a project like that?
