Near mint 260Z

If this was a US Zclub, l could understand people getting upset, but this the UK Zclub - it wouldn't be a real UK club if it members weren't opinionated, occasionally argue, slag each other and enjoy it all during the process - that's what differentiates us from the rest. I love all of the Zed's (err... well most of them... ), but l definite have an opinion what the pecking order is.

In case l've been out of the UK for too long, slag is an Irish phrase for friendly banter and not a reflection of the members sexual promiscuity :D

:S30: why do some people look down on the 260 2+2 ( them with the 240z )

I wouldn't worry too much about that, enjoy what you have!

You only have to look at the recent 240's on E bay to see they are not selling, even those that expected to do very well have failed to reach the reserves set. A wake up call for those suffering from rose tinted glasses! Yes a mint 240z will achieve a better price than a mint 2+2,but lets face it, most of the 240/260 and the 2+2 were subject to some awful rust problems and bodged by many a welder and body shop over the years. In my view a very clean (rust free doesn't exist) Z is the one you want, wheather 240,260 or 260 2+2. Next time you go to a show, take a look at the undersides of all the cars on show and it will paint a very bleak picture in my view.

Zep, I think many of us are getting too old to be sexually promiscuous anyway :)

(Although I wasn't at the Xmas party, so I could be wrong!)

Work Out How many Z's are on the road in running order/condition,this apply's
to those over say 25 years old. What is left? What will be left(future) & this will
determine the overall value & demand. Own & ' Wear' whatever Z model, but
The 260Z 2+2 is: The most underated Z of all time. DJZ 60.

Just because there is less of something doesnt necessarily mean it will be worth more, will the demand change that is the question? It could even go down for all classic cars.

UK Government is anti car, let's see what the future has in store for classics, I don't think it looks too promising - which may discourage people from owning one.

By Value,I don't purely mean, Investment but Valid, by way of being a car that
has, as good a design as it's sibling's.Remember If you knock your own car's,
then Is it a wonder that other's have done? DJZ 60.

Doesn't stop you thinking about it though. It's great getting older the percentage of the population that you fancy increases every year. I used to like 14-18 year old girls, now most under 40 ish look good  :D

This ties into my theory that this is why you start the shake more the older you get. Let's face it, by the time you in your 80's and 90's, pretty much everyone on the planet looks good - that's enough to make you shake while your going down the shops on the old Zimmer frame.

I think you're missing the point comparing mint 240s and mint 260s on ebay - mint 240s ARE selling !
Saggy Zs, whether 240s or 260s or plain dodgy Zs aren't unless the price is attractive enough that it isn't a risk 'cos one can always break 'em up ! But there are already enough broken 260 2+2 s aren't there :) ?

To make you family men feel better, there is currently a mint 2+2 for sale over here with 81000 miles onthe clock for £7500 - think it will sell ?

Sean. You're only trying to control/manipulate prices in your quest to pick up bargains?
(you need to fill that barn!) O.k so you've got a few Z's,& nissan Roadsters etc. I don't think
anyones going to lower their price just coz of you?
Here's a point.

Let's say Groll's completes his car , & at some stage he decides to sell it. Do you think he is going to sell it for two quid??? eh! eh! eh! & one more Eh!.......... DJZ 60.

Well, you took your time to bite !

I think if I look for a 260, it'll be a 2 seater but thern again, since my 240 will NOT be a bone-jarring typical 240, I won't need to find a more comfortable ride - will I , So I'll stick with 240s, 280s and 300s thanks !

As to Grolls' car - I don't like the colour and his will need extra strong off-side suspension to counter-act any sideways drifting in those tight corners he will be driving through :)

If he sold it the day after it was finished, he'd maybe get 7k for it ! That's how it is ! If I sold mine the day after it is finished (???) I'll be lucky to get 12k but do you think I and Grolls will ? You'll be selling yours first mate !
