In an attempt to answer the above postI had a quick look and could not find any information stating the nature of content that would justify removal of a post. Surely defining precise content that would result in removal would stop the issues discussed here, as it would leave nothing open to interpretation. The use of generalised sweeping statement rules would be of no use as it would leave the decision open to interpretation.
My 2penneth on the matter.
If you look in the rules page that opens when you look in the Z Community Drop box it does state what would not be tolerated
2. The following will not be tolerated.
i) Inflammatory responses
ii) Use of inappropriate language
iii) Harassment of other members
iv) Name calling
v) Picking fights
vi) Inciting arguments
vii) Posts / links of a sexist, sexual, lewd, explicit or racist nature
Which I believe covers what people should think about when replying to other peoples posts
What the automated system on here allows is for a person who edits a post (i.e a moderator or the original subscribed poster) to place a comment at the bottom of the post to say why it had been edited but unfortunately this does not work when a complete post is deleted as I tried to explain on another thread
But back to the original question what I used to do was send an pm to the person who I had personally deleted (as one of the moderators) a post explaining the reason why it was deleted in the hope that the person would understand the reason why the post had been removed but although this generally worked for a time after a while it seems to get forgotten
What would be ideal in the new system that is being worked on would be to try and get some sort of automated system to allow a reason why a post was deleted but as the post that had been deleted and would have been removed from view anyone who did not see that post would always be unaware of what was in the post
