Marugen Shoukai FRP Fenders

Has anyone got any experience with Marugen Shoukai FRP front fenders?

I haven't yet managed to find any stock front wings in good enough condition (although I'm still waiting on some options) if I can't get good wings I am considering ordering a Marugen Shoukai fender, I beleive they are renowned for good quality so they are the only FRP fenders I'd trust.

Has anyone any experience with FRP fenders who could advise if this is a good idea or not.

Ian, I suppose that's going to be the way forward for a lot of restorers.

I've no comment on the suppliers you refer to but I do know that folks have a lot of trouble aligning FRP wings and of course they are thicker that steel.

I've always been of the opinion that they are for competition cars only but as I say it may be the only way forward.

I saw a 911 with FRP doors and wings, they were so good I had to tap them to convince me they were FRP.

A lot of my 370Z is 'plastic' of course.

We would all be interested to hear about your experience if you go down that route.

For a smart road car I'd rather have metal wings but FRP wings may be a better option than old rusty wings. If I do go with an FRP one then it will be a top quality item which is why I'm looking at the above companies, if they are not a good fit then none will be. I'm sure you have heard of Star road, they use Restored JP parts so they must be good quality.

If I had the money I'd go with full carbon parts wings.

I believe Nissan still stock the front left
If only it was the left I needed, unfortunately they no longer have th right side in stock.

For what it's worth, Marugen Shoukai are considered one of the best suppliers of FRP products for the Z. Their G noses for example are second to none (apparently, Japanese owners of genuine 240ZGs are know to use their parts as spares/replacements - they are very accurate).

Thats what I thought, thanks for the confirmation.

Have you heard anything about Restored?

Ian, you can always buy my car for spares ;)
I would like to buy your car, but I certainly wouldn't use it for spares.
