I'm only having a tiddly engine.... is quite happen my swap our land mass for yours
Interesting numbers. Swapping diff ratio's doesn't make quit the difference I had imagined.
Is it the same modified stub axles that are needed for the r200 short nose diff?
No but there are "serious" racers using ATB's in a large number of formula series.Cons of an ATM - not homologated for 'serious' racing.
Odd, my car leaves dual tyre marks on a spin upI don't like the fact that only one wheel spins during a burnout at the drag strip so I only get one sticky tyre
yes it can you're right but when you're driving many different tracks then you're constantly tweakingHaving had personal experience of the plate lsd I can vouch for the noiseness when hot. As for the understeer this can be dialled out according to your preference.
which involves shimming with expensive and sometimes difficult to get clutch and dog platesThe plate diff seams to be the preferred choice for those that are experienced enough and have the ability to know exactly how to set the diff for their specific use and be happy enough to keep taking it apart for adjustments.
Fellas, please educate me - what are these telephone numbers you are quoting?
Its the diff final drive, expressed as a ratio.
Nope, still feeling dumb!
So when you say "1st to 2nd 299138"
What is 299138 representing!?
For shopping trip warriors a viscous is usable but starts to lose active ability once it gets hot.
Shopping trip warriors rarely get a diff THAT hot unless on drift all the way there....
Maybe it's down to a customer service problem. Quaife tell me it's normal to only spin one wheel when the other has no traction due to sitting in water. Torque is applied to the wheel with traction.
The plated ones are quite happy in the back of m3's etc.
Yes but look at the typical demographic that might have an M3

Off piste - did you know that statistically (insurance company stats) the M3 has the most cases of frontal impact of any other car?
Driver attitude or diff lock up under breaking making it misbehave!?
