When mine seams to change on a dailey basis.

Take yesterday. Wake up and go to work as usual. Not a massive amount on but enough to fill a day. Then I hear about a shop coming up for rent, take a quick look and sign a rental agreement so I now have a shop to fill!. Ring up a mate who imports from China, go and order several grands worth or stock to get us started so thats sorted. Go back to work to finish my first job. Get a phone call from another mate who's just had an offer on a plot of land. Pop round and shake on a deal to buy it so thats sorted. Go back to work to finally finish the first job I started which ended up taking the rest of the day. Go home and tell the wife!!!!!!!

Hope today turns out less expensive.

Well you need something to keep you occupied while the racing season closing :D

heap it on John

You certainly seem to thrive on pressure John. You're a risk-taker and get your 'kicks' from that - we are all different, there's no way I could live your life and vice-versa no doubt.

Good luck with your new venture/s.

May I ask what your daily grind is please...

Good going though.

I gave up work in '99 (as an electrical engineer) to open a computer shop with my wife. The shop did really well and was generally a great way of life. In 2006 I found a bit of land so designed and built my first house which I thoroughly enjoyed. 2008 closed the shop to concentrate on corporate network support, which I do now. My wife has always wanted to open and run another shop but I didn't fancy another computer shop so we are going to be selling unique items for the home with lots of one off items. I'm always looking for the next business venture as I tend to get bored easy and can't bring myself to work doing something I don't enjoy. We are just finishing off the second build/rebuild so at this stage I usually start looking for another project. The land I'm buying is as a home for the Z and maybe a few other cars. I don't have enough room where we live but want to move so the land that's walking distance will be like an extension to our house to include multi ad garage and workshops.

A very comprehensive answer there. Nice to know what the peeps on here do.
I'd love to be close to my work. I travel 180 miles a day for work in the big smoke. Grrrr:smash:

Nice to hear of someone else with a dumb commute. I'm just signing up for a 3 hr/100 mile each way commute.

It's not actually that bad tbh, I use the train and it's rapid. It's just the london underground that is pants.

Sack driving that!

That's f**k all you want to work up north !!!

We're a bit softer down south so not quite used to the northern way Dave. Us southerners don't have coal mines to harden us up.

Yeah we've got electricary down here, and water that comes out of a tap as well !

Anyway John never mind your complicated life, is the car ready for Sunday? :D

Why don't you invest in a decent 3D printer then with your computer background, design and make one off items for individual customers. You could even use it to make some of the more hard to find spare parts for Z's.
When you are fully rolling in cash, just remember who gave you the idea. Lol.

Dave why is it you guys up tut north store your cars sat on bricks, esp at night ?

Yes we know the world is round but honestly the cars won't move as the earth rotates ;)

The theme for the shop will be one off items for the home. A mate of mine imports this type of stuff so I'll be getting a good deal on the price so it should be pretty profitable. Time will tell.
